Why is it that every time I go to the liquor store swearing to myself I'm going to try a new kind of wine I always end up with stuff I already have tried and know I like? :rotfl:

I had gone through the liquor store's magazine with the monthly sales, making a list of what I wanted to get before the sale is over in a few days, and ended up getting stuff that was on sale, but was stuff I already had tried before.

Guess I'll be making another run to the store before the end of the week.

Old habits are hard to break!

We discovered a delicious and refreshing wine cocktail this holiday season. Put a half-shot of Chambord in the bottom of champagne flute, then fill the glass with a sparkling brut. Yum!

They had these at our office Christmas party last year, they called them Poinsettias. They were very good.

OP, I am like you, I like what I like but every once in a while the guy at the liquor store will recommend something new and I usually like that. I tend to try new things at restaurants. My new favorite is called "New Age". It is an Argentinian (maybe Australian???) white. It is crisp and fruity but not too sweet. It almost has a bite to it. I had it at a wine bar and now I buy it for home.

I too also try only new wines when I eat at restaurants or away from home. I have a new favorite since Christmas at my grandparents, Alice White's lexia. A nice crisp Australlian white wine.
