Why is it so hard to find decent shoes for girls????

I agree with keens. They have lots of cute colors. Teva works too but my kids have both preferred keens. We will all be sporting them next week at Disney. We buy ours on zappos.

I've found that in order to get long-lasting shoes for my kids I have to spend more money. Their clothes are all second hand, but I buy Keens, Tevas, Dansko, etc for shoes. I'd day average $40 a pair, but my kids only have two pairs at any given time.

Thanks. I have to check out these Keens everyone keeps raving about! :)

And we are going to WDW next week too!

There is absolutely no way of knowing. Plus, you won't know if he is going to be walking yet. That will play a big part in what shoes to get. Why do you want to buy them now?

Half price. :)
But I can wait and pay full price next year! Thanks for answering.

I swear by my route 66 sandles ( I have tiny kid sized feet). They come in nice (not totally girly) styles. I have a black pair with some nice little colored stiched x's on them. I paid (gasp) 16 dollars for them (way more than I usally spend) but there the best sandles ever. I can run after th 2's at work and they dont fall off. I also find white stag pretty nice.

I would love to buy keens for next summer for my son. He is 9 weeks old - any idea on his shoe size next summer.

I agree with others to wait. The smallest size they have is a 4. I bought DD a pair new in the box size 4 at a consignment sale for $10. She turned 1 in May and is just now fitting in them and just starting to walk. Walmart also had some shoes like keens much cheaper and smaller sizes. DD has very small feet she was wearing a 2 in sandals this summer. I think the Keens size 4 fits like the walmart size 3 (they are the same size when I compared them).

As for the original question. I've never been into very girly shoes and spend time hiking and outdoors. I've seen lots of shoes options even for young girls. Target, Walmart, Payless, department stores. Most of the time I prefer to buy name brand shoes though, I just think they do better. In Keens I still buy the kids sizes for myself. I also like Teva's and Merrils. My sister loves her Chaccos but they don't fit my foot right. Try going to a Sporting Goods store if you have one near by. Bass Pro Shop, Acadamey, Gander Mtn etc. Keens are my favorite!

My kids live in their Keens -- we did the Zulily sale and stocked up this weekend. DD also likes her slip-on Toms.

Crocs are great for kids- just be careful if they get wet as it can lead to blisters. Birkenstocks are great, too, but they don't come in real small sizes, so ymmv.

For me, however, nothing beats dri-fit socks and comfortable sneakers.

Keens (I was so excited to find the Seacamps on Zulily!), Toms, Pediped, See Kai Run, Converse (sneakers but they also have some adorable sparkly ones), Livie and Luca, Sperry Top-Sider...

Some of these brands are expensive at list price but, if you can find them on sale, you can get them for 30-60% off and they are wonderful, durable shoes for little feet. Hope you find something great for your little girl.
