I am looking for a comfortable shoe (other than a sneaker) for my daughter for our upcoming WDW trip. It is impossible. EVERY shoe out there is either a strappy/sparkly/impractical shoe, high heeled ( And can i just say ????), a flip flop, or a croc. I just want a regular comfortable sandal. I am so frustrated, and quite frankly disgusted, by the options out there.

Ok, rant over.

Anyone have a shoe they could recommend? My daughter wears a 13/1 so the toddler options are out.

We bought our daughter (who is 3) a pair of Keen's and they have worked wonderfully.

Both Eddie Bauer and bass sell an excellent sandal for kids. They come in many colors and fit well. We had the open toe style but I think there was a closed toe type as well. They are similar to some of the keens but a little less expensive. LL bean should have then too. Cute but outdoorsy so good for walking. :)

Yes, check out either the Keen's or Tevas. But they are very pricey.

Clarks makes some good comfortable shoes. I wear those every day and have to walk alot for work, even their dressy shoes are comfortable in comparison to other dressy shoes. You can also find them in regular shoe stores like Shoe Carnival and sometimes Pay less and they're a lot cheaper than Keen or Teva. When I was pregnant, it was only Clarks shoes that I could wear.

Chaco also has a comfortable sandal but I'm not as thrilled about their designs.

I used to love stride rite but my dd is in a size 1 as well and it seems the bigger they get, the more trendy they get! I've been really happy with Clark's, on sale. Quality far surpasses stride rite and they aren't as trendy.

And thanks for the other recommendations...I'll check out those brands. Just stinks that you have to pay an arm and a leg for a comfortable, age appropriate show for a 7 year old girl, when the big box/department stores offer shoes for boys that would be just as appropriate for active girls.

try finding boys shoes!! the only option they have is brown, black or blue! it's very very frustrating!!

I don't understand. Whenever we go shoe shopping there are an abundance of choices for comfortable girl shoes. I am not sure what your idea of a "regular shoe" is.

I feel your pain. My daughter has a wide foot and it is impossible to find her cute shoes that are not $40 or up.

We use www.6pm.com for good shoes at a decent price. Our daughter loves her Crocs but lived in shoes from LL Bean, Lands End and Stride Rite. We got some good deals online. Our son has wide feet and we have a lot of Keens for him.

I like these from Land's End:

I guess just something that is age appropriate, and not a flip flop or crocs (DD doesn't like them).

I just spent some time on zappos...found a Teva I like (and I think she will too). We'll give that a try.

I like the Tevas and Keens. Just bought my daughter a pair of Keens this week (at Stride Rite they had a BOGO 50%). She's in love, they are purple. I liked the light blue pair for her so I could hand down to my son, but as luck would have it they didn't have her size -- which she was happy about.

My daughter is in a size 1 and has a very wide foot, so these work well for her.

My girls have worn Keen sandals for years to WDW. Me too! Zulily had a sale on them this week for like $25. Search online for Keen girls sale too. They are worth the money, IMHO.

I would love to buy keens for next summer for my son. He is 9 weeks old - any idea on his shoe size next summer.

There is absolutely no way of knowing. Plus, you won't know if he is going to be walking yet. That will play a big part in what shoes to get. Why do you want to buy them now?
