Why is Frozen so problematic?

ive visited wdw 4 times since Frozen Everafter started. It has been down every time we have visited Epcot. Design flaw??

Can't wait to see the answers for this. I have a FP for May for FEA because if we want to ride I hear you need to have one. Keep thinking I should just skip it and go for TT instead.

We spent two days at Epcot last week and I didn't notice it being down at all. I had actually read about the problems so I was expecting it to be. I guess we got lucky?

I can't speak for it being down but we went on it twice in the morning in July and thought it was really well done and worth doing! I definitely like it more than TT! It did go down once during our Epcot day.

It's definitely a lot better than it has been. It seems to not be breaking down as often

Today we have made three attempts to ride. Each time it has been shut down. Once we were at front of the line.

Guess what I wonder is what could the ongoing issue be that engineering can't resolve?

I rode FEA three times in two days the last week of December and it was never down for me.It's all relative I guess.

I haven't seen it down that much lately.. people mover on the other hand I've seen down a lot to put into perspective.

It's not uncommon for new rides with something new technology wise to have issues. test track comes to mind where it was down more than operational for a year or two if I remember it correctly.

Elsa keeps freezing the ride...

We had FPs for three different days back in November, and it was down during two of those.

What happens if you have a FP+ for a ride and it goes down?

You'll get an email saying the ride is down during your FP window. It'll give you an anytime fast pass that you can use the rest of that day either on the ride that was down, or the email (also in MDE) will give you a list of other available rides you can do.

Also if you have a FP late in the day and your ride goes down, the system will tell you you have an anytime FP that you can use for the remainder of that day, or the following day.

We had a FP for TT for 8-9pm at Epcot last weekend, it was down. So our Anytime FP said we could use it on any ride that night or use it the following day. It just excluded Frozen, Illuminations, RoL, and Fantasmic.

There's nothing further you need to do, just go to the ride and enter like a regular FP

Maelstrom was not known for being the most reliable ride.
And Frozen added some advanced AA's (that look spooky when down) into the mix.

And throw in the popularity of the ride and full "boats" and you have a recipe for breakdowns.

IMHO, it doesn't look good for Disney when they have a ride that breaks down frequently, especially when its coming up on the one year mark of being in service.....
