Why is DLH sold out Feb 1-3?

We are thinking of making a quick trip over these days, for numerous reasons. We usually stay at the CCI, but just for kicks I checked the DLH, and they are sold out. Is there some big event going on over these dates we should be aware of? We were hoping it would be a bit of a down time.

I'm curious too.... I have a quick overnight (2day) trip on Jan 31st - Feb1 st and had hopes of an easier time with crowds.
The park hours are only 10am to 8pm.

I tried to change from PPH to the DHL for my trip from Feb 7-11 and they are sold out then too. I wonder what is going on as it isn't a school break and Valentine's Day isn't until the 14th.

That's really interesting! I will be there with my 5 kids, hubby & grandparents for those dates Feb. 1st-5th off-site because our oldest son's Jr. High concert band has a school trip in conjunction with the Disney Performing Arts program for Feb. 2nd-3rd. It's not a huge group but his band director did tell me other families also planned to be there at the same time because we got to purchase discounted tickets through them.

The only "events" going on that I know of are:

1. Remember: Dreams Come True Fireworks comes back the 3rd.
2. The MSEP comes back not long before then.
3. The Lunar New Year is going on.
4. It's known as the "slow season."

Those are reasons some people might choose to come, but I can't imagine it selling out the Disneyland Hotel!!

That is very interesting, I was able to book DLH for Sat 2/4 just the other day. I do wonder why it would be busy. Couple things, though, PPH guests may have been pissed about the not getting to cut through the grand so they upgraded to DLH, and a lot of people were upset they were paying such high rates at GCH when it was currently under construction and has no pool area. I do wonder if there's been a lot of "moves" to DLH for these reasons??

I don't have any information, but it's also possible that there are conferences/conventions scheduled for the DLH and perhaps they've taken up a large chunk of the rooms.

I was just wondering this for Feb. 7-11 too! That's when we are booked there and I always like to check prices for my dates again just to see if I could do better, and I noticed our dates are sold out at DLH

There's a huge medical device/instrument convention at the Convention center in Anaheim from 7th -9th.

We actually decided in a trip just today from the 9th -12th and noticed stuff was going up or selling out too.

I'm wondering if people are avoiding staying at the Grand due to the construction?

There is almost no availability at any DLR hotels from February 6-9. Must be the medical device show!

I'm staying at the grand fro Jan 27 to 30. When I made reservations, I noticed that the dlh had no rooms.

When I am staying, the renovation are mainly the pools, and I don't care about those.

I have to assume it's some convention booking the hotel, it's not like it's an otherwise busy period.

Is this big convention going to dramatically increase park attendance that week? Or should it have minimal effect?
