I have been checking airfare from Detroit to LAX, and have found most airlines are pretty reasonable, around $200-$300 r/t to LAX, but NO, not DELTA!! Sheesh, they want $693 and UP for COACH!! Funnily enough, to SNA, they are charging normal price....anyone know why?? I'll most likely be flying Southwest, but like to see what other carriers are charging. Also, about SW, why do they fly to LAX from Detroit, but not SNA?? I'd rather be flying to SNA, but with SW, I can't!!

Thanx

Jules

Sorry, can't offer any answers. But just a suggestion that you also look into flying to ONT (Ontario) if you are going to L.A./DL area. We flew in and out of ONT last May, coming and going on Saturdays. We even arrived the Saturday before Memorial Day and found it easy in and out.
I have heard on week days the traffic around ONT can be terrible. But I think that pretty much speaks for the majority of roads in that area.
We drove from our hotel in Anaheim to ONT on the Saturday we left. It only took a half hour to drive.

I don't know, but for us, Delta always has the best fares, and Continental is always expensive. I suppose it is the specific area that you are flying out of that determines how expensive a certain airline is in that location.

i wonder if now that they are cutting back on the number on flights they have on airline, therefore there are less seats available. Could be a case of supply and demand as those that still wish to fly still have to pay. Americans flight for our trip went from $293 to over $600 in one day. Go figure.

The flights I was scheduled on for December were empty and ridiculously high right before they cancelled them.

I'm sure it was to reduce the number of folks they would have to switch to other flights.
