Why is AKL coming up so much more than FW Cabins?

The base rate for cabins is something like $250 a night and AKL is round $200 a night. When both are value season (Dec 19-29), shouldn't the package for AKL be cheaper than FWCs? I'm coming up with $5843 for AKL and $4605 for a cabin. Both are with dining and with everything the same. Why is the cheaper room rate more expensive when it is a package? I might save enough by not doing a package to pay OOP for dining and skip the plan if it's going to charge an extra $1200!! Anyone know why this happens and how to get around it and still get dining?

Maybe try entering your info again. I tried it quickly on the website, and not knowing your particulars, entered this:

12/19/06 to 12/29/06
2 adults
2 children
MYW with Dining

AKL: 4226.38
FW cabins: 4605.58

This is before the step where it asks you if you want air/ground transportation or insurance. This seems about right to me. If you're using the website, I tried the quote for AKL first, and noticed when I clicked "Edit Search" and the only thing I changed was the resort to FW cabins, it automatically defaulted the quote to MYW, not MYW with dining. Maybe you missed that part the second time? Not sure what else it could be.

How many people in your party?

AKL rooms can hold 4 plus a child under the age of 3, unless you get a Deluxe room, which are much more expensive.

Ft Wilderness can accomodate 6 people.

Thanks for helping, guys!

I am still coming up with the first figures and can't get the rates you got, even when I am very careful about checking dining every time, etc. I will keep trying until it comes up right.

We have 5 in our family, but our little one will still be 2 yrs old. The others will be 5 and 8.

Thanks again--

Mommyeoe I did get what you gotfor the akl but did you notice that is is with a 10 day hopper pass???

What room type is it giving you for AKL??? Probably Deluxe Water View or Deluxe Savannah view - and that is where the problem is.

Change your youngests ages to 1 or less, or just remove them from the system, and you will get the better pricing.

Disney's system gets confused sometimes with a 2yo....

In other words, just price a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, ages 5 and 8.

You were right. When I put my 2 year old in, it only offers me deluxe bunk room and higher. When I take him out, it give me many other options, saving something like $1600. I hope that when I call, they will give me the cheap rooms, even with my baby!

Thanks to all for the help!!

You should be able to as he if he is still sleeping in a pack-n-play. I would request bunk bed rooms though.
