Why I LOVE the Disneyland Hotel so much...

We had the absolute best vacation a year ago September when we stayed at DLH. Joe & Jackie are simply the best. We had dropped in to say hi in March, but missed them. We stopped by the other day and missed them again. While we were there, we popped into the Fantasy gift shop and purchased a gift for my aunt. We left there and went straight to the Lego store. While in the store we were feeling the Disney mini figure bags to decide which we wanted to purchase. It was at this time that the bag with our gift was stolen. We checked with the manager, just in case, but they didn't have it. The manager was very nice. My daughter was in tears and he gave her a couple of ornaments to try to make her feel better. We then headed back to DLH and stopped by the front desk (since the store was closed) to see if once the store opened in the morning if they could hold the item for us so we could buy it again. We wanted to be sure it didn't sell out. The front desk couldn't do that (they have no control over that kind of stuff), but they gave me a voucher to replace the item at no charge. This was such a surprise. I was so grateful. I was not a guest at the hotel this time, but they helped me anyway.

When we came back the next morning to see Joe and Jackie, we had a wonderful visit. They recognized us on sight and were sincerely happy to see us. They are wonderful people!

Anyway, this is a long winded note to say that the DLH and its staff truly rocks!!

Nice that you got that experience. It's not always like that.

When bell services there or the to-resort delivery people broke DS's new toy and it was sold out at World of Disney dlh staff made zero attempts to help me, and I ended up having to go in to Disneyland on the Columbus day Monday that was also during gay days, fight my way back to the Pirates League thing they had just started that year (do they still do that at Halloween?), to get them to replace the item with the stock the PL people had scavenged from all other shops on property.

This was our last day and hubby and son were relaxing at the pool while I spent almost 2 hours on this quest caused by Disney employees. Sigh.


That said, Disney is good about thefts when they happen. When DS was three and his brand new pirate hat was stolen from under a junky sweatshirt in the bottom of the rental stroller they arranged to get another for free. Disneybis good about that. Just, apparently, not good when they break something.

Sorry that happened to your son. Sadly, no, the Pirates League went away with the Carnival. I wish they'd bring that back.
