When I was in little league. I played outfield. No one in the first grade ever hits a ball to the outfield. I sat out there and just picked dandilions or my nose or whatever. Then I sat on the bench and waited for my turn at bat. Baseball is the slowest most boring game in the history of sports.

PhinWay Park brings back all my little league nightmares. I spend most of the time waiting for a chance to play. Then what happens? I strike out!

I don't know if I can bear to relive that childhood trauma and get back in line to try again.

Maybe Phinny will let me sit in the outfield and play with the gophers. :lmao:

LOL You picked dandilions or your nose? I'm sorry for bad childhood memories.. I'm making mine now!

By the way nice signature, I've seen Bell Hop boy with it too.

I got in again... I struck out again! What are the odds?!

I am truly the worst player in the history of baseball.

I usually wore the glove on my head. That way my hands were free and I could pick both at the same time. :teeth:

lol, i have bad rec soft ball memories, i usally played outfield too. the coaches say the best hitters always played outfield (yeah right) while the coaches daughters and their duaghter's firend get to play what ever they want. Yup there is nothing to do in the out field. The most annoying was the gnats though couldn't stand them. I usally put on a show with singing and dancing.

proud to be a right fielder;) (yeah right!)

When I was younger (much younger lol) my friend and I were put in the out field for gym class, softball. lol. We had the times of our lives, until I took it too far one time lol. I started doing cartwheels in the middle of a game. After that my friend and I started cantering around the field lol. I heard my teacher yell out to us, "I thought I was teaching students, not horses." Everyone in the class turned and looked at my friend and I frozen in gallop position lol. Let's just say it wasn't pretty after... lol.

Isn't nose picking a sport?? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 If that's the case, that would make u a 2 sports star and in the company of some greats to include Bo Jackson and "Neon" Dion Sanders. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

This is not necessarily true. My little brother plays baseball. They put all the kids that CAN catch and throw in the outfield. If they don't, how in the world will anyone catch long pop flies? Or be able to throw far (and hard) enough to get the ball back into the infield after snagging a grounder?

If you can't throw and can't catch, you sit on the bench...or you become bat boy..

You can come to my field: The Zoo at the Field of Disney Dreams and play with the gophers anytime you want to.

Oh yeah, thanks for bringing that memory up again! I'm left handed but nobody ever asked. They just gave me the same glove as everybody else. No wonder I threw like a sissy!

little league... grr... Baseball... GRRR!

I'm turning my luck around at Hula's game today. To quote Dr. Phil, "This will be a changing day!" :woohoo:

(the odds of hitting "out" four times in a row are 1 in 625. Now come on, how bad can my baseball luck be?)

i absolutely loathed baseball day in p.e. luckily in hi stool i got out of pe and took dance for it instead. i'm not a big sports fan if you cant tell. (i used to walk the mile in middle school.)

Here's how it went down. I got in line right at the beginning of the event. I landed at 24 in the queue. That means I should have plenty of time, no DC for me!

I get up to bat and there is a man on third
I single it and for the first time I am on base!
The next player hits a single and now the bases are loaded.
The player up to bat gets the grand slam and we all come in!!!

THE CROWD GOES WILD!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

They put them in center or left field. In right field they put people like me. Most people are right handed and hit to center or left field. Few people are lefted handed and tend to hit to center or right field. So very few balls actually come out of right field especially in Little League Softball. And yes my first year in softball was as the bat girl. The next 5 years I didn't play. Then I got a wild hair and decided to try again and they put me in right field, probably because I was too big to be the bat girl.

Here was the deal, my little sister was a great softball player, I saw her having all the fun and doing things with her team, so I wanted to try too. Since she knew all about softball they must have thought I did too, but I didn't really and no one ever sat down and explained things to me. So I really stunk at it. I never played again after the second time, but years later I did learn more, and can see now that they never really explained things to me then, and they didn't really care to either (or else they would have spent some more time trying to explain things to me).

Anyway, that was 30 years ago. I hope they have better coachs now then they did then.
