Why have I been told the WDW board is scary

Why can't you park hop if you have an extra day on a park hopper ticket at WDW? I thought that's the value of a PH ticket -- so you can park hop.

No, what PP means is that you can't use two days' admission on a non-hopper pass to visit two parks on the same day.

Sometimes we here on the DL forum get into a kerfluffle. Spirits are high, reactions are high, etc. But then it goes away and all is well.

This is way but Molly, I love the word "kerfluffle."

Some boards are safer than others. However, I've been personally attacked for numerous opinions there...for example, I was called names over stating that I didn't think it was appropriate to sit on the floor in a public bathroom. There was a large contingency of members who seemed to think it is unreasonable to consider that to be unsanitary.

While that's one example, I found that those type of things happened quite regularly...and there seem to be people there who will get their buddies to jump in whenever it happens, so it quickly gets out of hand.

I found the Budget board to be safest...followed by the families board. The other boards I rarely posted on. The community board is deadly. I'm firmly convinced that it is nothing but a bridge for the board trolls to hide under.

If I were a regular WDW visitor I probably wouldn't use those boards either.

One thing I learned there was to quickly confront those who post only to stir the pot. I know some folks on the DLR don't like that, but I've found that pot stirrers take things as far as they can. If you call them on it quickly and openly, they usually go away. Allowed to carry on, they almost take over certain types of threads, making them dangerous for everyone!

I hope everyone is taking notes and I hope we all are reading this thread then looking at our behavior to other posters.

At times I so want to post rude remarks like "try reading the index" or "Google before posting". Then I realize that maybe that person has mental or physical limitations. Maybe they did search but missed the other 20 posts on the same subject. Maybe they think their post is unique and different. Maybe they do not understand posting etiquette.

Wow a whole lot of maybes.

I seen people triple post because they do not know about multiquote and coding. I seen people who did not know that typing in all capital letters is considered yelling in the online world. I then am thankful that at least they are asking for help instead of sitting in silence and then having a bad vacation. It is hard to deal with others online but we must remember that we do not know the other person well enough to understand why they do what they do.

The best way to build a board is to teach people and encourage new people.

I love disAbilities as they are there through thick and thin while teaching, learning, sharing, caring, and encouraging every person who posts on that board. Sue does not allow any guff from outsiders who mess with people who post on boards under her control. She watches over that board and keeps us out of mischief. I wish there were more people in this world like her.
