Why don't they fix the MK saturday crowds problem?

Just a simple question for the experts out there! Given every time I read a trip report or a "just back" thread it says MK was mobbed on saturdays, why is it so hard for WDW to offer up the parades and fireworks on other nights? It should be clear by the attendance figures compared to the rest of the week that parents want their kids to see the parade and fireworks, so would it really kill them to offer the same entertainment one other night (of course, that would mean extending hours, but I for one have to believe extended friday hours would not be a financial disaster for them)

any thoughts or other solutions?

Perhaps Saturdays are busy due to more local attendance, and not due to parades and fireworks.

If that is the case, and non-locals want to enjoy the parade and fireworks w/o dealing w. the crowds, a simple solution would be to move spectro and fantasy off weekends (or again, at least offer it more than one night) correct?

Disney isnt willing to spend the money to fix the problem they have, they perfer to save money and only have parades/fireworks on a limited scale and care little about guest enjoyment!!!

I remember one night back around '95. Sat was the only night they did a parade. After the parade was a mob/riot scene. You couldn't move with you stroller, it was gridlock, you literally couldn't move at all, people were screaming, it was wild. Right in the middle of main street people started throwng their strollers. The pile was way over ten feet high. We chucked ours on top too. You couldn't even dream of moving with a stroller.
