Why dont I ever see bees in Disneyworld?

My dh found one, or I guess I should say the bee found my dh while he was standing in line at Star Tours. We think it was a Sith Bee.

Sorry,,,Guess I didn't make myself clear about my friend's DD and our situation. I had the child with me by myself. I was not aware of the problem with the bee bite. I really didn't expect that the CMs would treat her, I just wanted to know where I could take her. They didn't seem to know where the First Aid Station was which surprised me. They just stood there. Then when the Paramedics did come, they told me that had she been more allergic and had walked any distance, the poison from the sting could have done great damage. In my opinion, my friend should have told me about the allergy. And I think that the CMs should have a better knowledge of where things are. To be fair, the shifts were in the process of changing and there was some confusion.

But the whole thing is...YES! there ARE bees at WDW!!!

I agree. The idea of expecting the CMs to be useless in an emergency seems odd. I have trouble believing that WDW doesn't expect its employees to know, at the least, where the bathrooms are located and how to call for help.

They do. But most of them can't afford to go to the parks with all the increases in tickets.

Last summer, I waited with DD for daddy to come out of the tower of terror at MGM outside the gift shop. I sat down on one of the stone benches and I sat on a bee and it stung me. It hurt a lot and the sting was there for quite some time. I think it was my first bee sting

A couple years ago my mom got stung by a bee near the Poly quiet pool... the bee had been buggin me first and I trapped it under a towel, I told my mom about it when she got out of the pool b/c I was too freaked out to kill it myself. With that my mom picks up the towel to get it and it got her first... it was a very sad moment... and was the worst sting my mom had ever got, it swelled up really big and we ended up that night in Epcot's first-aid station

So yes there are bees at Disney! Just not as many as it would seem b/c they bomb the property with insecticides at night.

I saw alot of big fat bees last time we went.They were huge like something off of Winnie the Poo. MY mother always told me don't run from them just ignore them and they will leave you alone. Well whatever every time one came at me I ran like and idiot with my kids saying hey wait up mom!

It helps to have parents that know what to do as well - your DF just needed to ask to be shown/escorted to first aid. CMs in the park/around the park are not there to be paramedics/first aid people. They are there to answer questions. If the DF's daughter was slightly allergic, the DF should have had a better plan than to depend on the CMs. You're 100% correct that the DF should have had some medication with her.

Your friend should get an EpiPen for her DD for the future. My sister was stung as a teen and swelled up pretty bad, so they said she was "slightly allergic" Well, apparently some allergies don't show their true severity until exposure #2, because she was stung 2 summers ago and went into respiratory arrest. She now carries an EpiPen at all times.

I do agree that the CM's should be fully aware of where first aid is and the quickest route to get there!

PS-As far as the bees being able to afford the ticket increase, don't they get a FL resident discount???

Trust me, they do have bees. My DS who was 6 at the time had a bee get under his shirt and sting him twice in Epcot. I think it was over by the France area.
