Why doesn't the IPhone have a "saved items" file in the email options?

There are times that I would love to save certain trip reports/threads on my iphone for future reading in doctors offices, airports etc. What am I missing here, is there an option to email my phone and save threads? I just have an inbox, sent, and trash option. Thanks.

It depends on your Email service provider. It has nothing to do with iPhone.

For instance on my Verizon Email acct (that I use with my Outlook) & Hotmail. I just have Inbox, sent & trash folder on my iphone. However iphone just downloads my mail...and dosent delte it from my Verizon account.

On my AOL email account I have Inbox, drafts, trash, Saved, Saved IMS, sent, spam & voicemail. However once I download my mail from my AOL account, it gets deleted from there and ONLY excists on my iphone.

Just dont delete any enails & they wont disapear on you iphone. You can always save threads by bookmarking in the iPhone Safari .

I had a feeling that was the case, thanks. Does anyone have any ideas as to saving nice long trip reports to the iPhone other than storing them in my inbox, which is a pain as I delete everything as I get it and try to keep that empty.

I have Gmail and ANY folder I set up on Gmail, exists on my iPhone. Maybe check with your email provider. You need an account that has IMAP access to get this. So anything I do on my iPhone, automatically is done on gmail as well.

You are accessing your email via your Iphone. So, any personal folders you have in your email account should exist on your Iphone.

I don't have my phone with me right now, but I think you can even make new folders from your Iphone.

the easiest way is to access your email via a pc and make your personal folders there. Have your Iphone next to you and as you create a new folder, check to see if it's updated on your Iphone.

I have sbcglobal via ATT and have almost 10 folders on my main email. They all show up on the Iphone and I move stuff from my inbox to my folders all the time.

Or you could buy an app that stores files, such as excel, word or pdf, then convert what you want to read to that format.
