Why does the online booking system do this??????

Okay I booked a 4 night stay in Oct. starting on the 22nd but in order to get those days I had to book the week that included my 4 nights. If I plugged in JUST MY 4 nights it shows no availability at several resorts. When I plugged in 7 days it showed availability at several resorts. Can I call and change my dates to reflect the nights I ONLY WANT????? This is weird??? It is like Disney won't let guests book if they are not willing to stay a full week. This is a room only reservation and not discounted in any way.

I just called them and for some reason THERE is a restriction for 6 night min. Just so odd. I have never heard of this. My friend booked hers a few weeks ago for 3 nights and I can't get 4 nights including her 3 nights without booking 6.

Update: I called again to see if they had any military discounts for my dates at any resorts and was telling the CM about my other reservation and she said let me check that for you because it didn't sound right. So she checked and what she said was that when the computer checks to change your dates it searches for the same room to just swap it with and there were NO more rooms. SO she called the resort itself and someone behind the scenes was able to alter the reservation so I got the 4 days I needed.
