things that are not broken?
We just got back from another 8-day feeding frenzy at Disney and all was fantastic with the exception of two instances. It was our first day and I headed over to Epcot for my traditional first day "Land salad" from the Sunshine Food Court. Imagine my horror when I glanced at the new menu board and found nothing that even resembled my succulent Land Salad with it's tender chicken and ham surrounded by fresh greens with a light raspberry vinaigrette. Just some concoction that the CM promised would be better but in reality looked like something that I would get at my local 7-11 with a burrito and a coke. Feeling depressed and neglected I made my way to the American Pavillion for a good ole fashioned Disney burger (I know, I'm sadistic). I ordered, sat down and took my the first bite of what would be many, many burgers to come. But wait. I'm getting that 7-11 microwaved feeling coming over me. I open up the bun and notice that my meat is shaped like a deranged flower. This is not the burgers that I have come to know and love. These are those cheap, synthetically manufactured patties that even a dog will have second thoughts about. Needless to say, after another bite or two I gave it a decent send-off in the trash. The only regret I have is that it will likely take 100 years to decompose.
Not a very good start to my vacation but Disney made up for it with superb meals at Beaches and Cream, Wolfgang Puck Express, Tubbies Buffeteria, Tony's Town Square, Kona Cafe and the Trails End Buffet. Fortunately, the burgers at both Beaches and Cream and Tubbies made up for my terrifying experience at the American Pavillion (Beaches and Cream was particularly tasty!).
So was it just bad luck or did Disney really change suppliers for their burgers? And what happened to my Land Salad?????
