Why does Disney do the Flower & Garden show when Walt didn't like gardens?!

I've read statements from Walt that he didn't like gardens, he liked just the regular wild growth. So Im curious as to why Disney would do this show at EPCOT, when they know Walt wouldn't have had interest in doing it? :confused3

Edit: Here is the statement out of the "Quotable Walt Disney" book I've purchased from Disney two weeks ago:

"I don't like formal gardens. I like wild nature. It's just the wilderness instinct in me, I guess." - Walt Disney

Walt didn't do things just to suit his personal likes and dislikes. He did things to make his audience happy. If he knew formal gardens would be loved by the public and people would flock to see them, he would have offered them himself.

HOW RUDE! the op just had a question you do not have to tell her to get over it. it is a good question

Because it brings people into the parks and generates money for the WDW organization. It's simple economics really.

Ohhhhh, them's fightin words around these parts pardner...

I do believe Walt's memory should be honored. However Walt probably would have not enjoyed alot of things that are currently inside WDW. But even if he didn't enjoy formal gardens himself I doubt he would have declared that there would never be a formal garden at DL or WDW. He had his preferances but was open to others ideas.

Think the poster was already wearing the flamesuit when posting?? Maybe they ran and jumped in it right after hitting "submit reply".

Gardening is not all about formal gardens either. The best gardens are ones that make use of native plants.

Also, Walt was very interested in how landscaping enhanced the show. Landscaping is just gardening on a large scale. Just because he didn't like formal gardens doesn't mean he didn't appreciate the art of landscaping.

No it's not... Asking questions about WHY things aren't run the way a man who has been dead for years is just strange and designed to bring out the "do it like Walt" fans....

NONE OF US KNOW WHAT HE WOULD DO IF HE WERE ALIVE TODAY!

It WAS rude in the way that it was posted. There were plenty more tactful ways in which to make the statement.
