Why do you people think taking the toiletries is stealing?

I know not all of "you" think this, but I just don't get it. The toiletries in the rooms are purchased for our use. Whether we take them or leave them, we pay for them. I just don't get it when I hear about someone saying that taking them is stealing.

Now, if you rob the cart in the hall......that's different. But to take the ones that are put in your room, it's fine.

We need to go back to WDW because DH is running low on oatmeal soap bars.;) :teeth:

Ooooo...those oatmeal soap bars at the Swan and Dolphin are the best! ::yes::

 people really think that is stealing? Wow...I am a big 'ol thief then.

I am down to my last four of five. Time to return. :teeth:

Wow, I didn't know people thought that was stealing! We always bring them home... dh uses them when he travels for work. :)

Yes, for the life of me, I can't understand it. Sometimes, when I stay places where they have coffee makers and free single pot coffees pre-packed.....I take them. I don't drink coffee at home, but I have guests sometimes that like a cup and if I buy some...it ends up stale. These are sealed for freshness.

Yep, I take the coffee too! I also take the plastic pens in the rooms that have Walt Disney World Resorts on them!:teeth: I'm probably damned for sure now!:p

You should see all the goodies you get at Portofino Bay!!! :) We took everything home it was so neat. :)

We take everything. And we take it before we leave each morning so that they replace it every day when they come in for maid service, in any hotel we stay in anywhere. My sister and I collect the stuff. We've got it from all over, because one of my mom's old boyfriends used to travel a lot for business and at the time he thought it was pretty cute that we loved collecting the stuff. It's not stealing. We paid for it when we paid for the room.

I do it too! We have a friend that works for the state. We give them to her and they give them to the underpriviledged mothers they work with.

Bring this over to the debate board. I'm sure someone will call it stealing. ;) Okay, maybe not stealing, but someone will say that by taking the shampoo when you don't need it is wrong, and it is raising the room rates for everyone.

It's figured in the room charges. I take mine home. :teeth: However, I don't like those coffee packets and leave them. Yuck! LOL! I recently used my own coffee while staying in a hotel here. :teeth:

Must use the leaded coffee packet first thing in the morning! I hate it when I travel with DH, because that means I only get one cup of coffee. I'm not good at sharing. ;)

Lewski, glad to hear that I get the whole two cups of coffee in October. :teeth:

The bag full of little lotions and soaps in my linen closet says I'm a big time CRIMINAL!! :smooth: Teehee!!

I even have a Swan/Dolphin basket displayed in my bathroom... DO NOT TOUCH!!

you can have them, but I will be getting a flavored espresso or something like that. I said I don't drink it at home. I have coffee every day at work with Fat Free flavored creamer. Sometimes even two, one reg and one decaf.

Well shoot! I'd rather have the good stuff. Could you just make sure you get me one too and bring it back before I wake up? :teeth:

Stealing? They are counting on you taking that stuff.

I have worked as an event planner for years. A great friend of mine who was the Sales Manager of a major casino hotel in NJ told me the amenities are considered "advertising premiums"--they have the property's logo on them. They want you to take them home as reminders to come back.

And yes, they are factored into the cost of your room.

Load up and enjoy without guilt!
