For me, it's stepping outside the hotel at 7 in the morning into the HEAT!
Eating food until your stomach cries "No More!"
Filling your hire car with gas for $30.
Hiring a boat down the Keys and snorkling on a coral reef, magic!

Yup the early mornings, and the heat.
Seeing dd's face when she meets the character's.
The food!!!!
The people, there's some friendly people over there. "How can i help you sir, have a good day sir!" lol, love there accent's.
dd nagging to go swimming at 6am!! in the pool!!!!

I miss everything, its a wonderful,special place!!
Can't wait until we are there again! YIPPEE.

The heat and smell of the place.
Feeling relaxed and knowing I dont have to think of work!
Seeing the big grin on DS face
Acting like teenagers on the rides(coz its cool coz nobody knows you!)

Knowing its okay to make a fool of yourself and not caring
Walking through the gates at universal(life just cant get any better).

The food
The people are soooo much nicer and genuine.

...The atmosphere!
...That 'away from it all feeling' in the parks with the music playing, the sun shining and nothing more to worry about than what you are going to ride next!!
...indulging in all things Disney :) !

.................. to name but a few!

EVERYTHING - from that distinct Florida smell that you first get as soon as you step of the plane, to the politeness, to the Food, to the Heat and yes even the Storms, spending a day shopping and and it not making to big a dent in the funds, everything Disney, the kids faces, DH face when he sees the characters - he's worse than the kids- I've got to stop because I want to go there now, maybe we will go this year instead of Toronto as planned!!

I don't just miss WDW and the reason for missing it is obvious; I miss the USA/ Canada.

I can't explain it, but I've always felt from a very very young age that North America was meant to be my home. I know it doesn't make sense, but I feel so at home in the US and Canada. When I'm at home in Scotland, I now feel I miss the States as if I'm actually missing a person - a physical feeling, I can feel a heaviness in my chest when I think about it too much.

I love the people and the culture so much, and know that I'd be happier there.

That's all I can say on the subject...:(

How strange . . . that's exactly how we feel:D

Just love the whole atmosphere, agree with snorkelling in the Keys (couldn't think of not going to the beach for at least a week while in Florida), Cinderella's castle, the happy sound of air cons means its HOT, the grins on all of our faces, particularly mine:)

I love :

....the weather
....the people are so friendly
....definately the food
....oh and being able to wear shorts and not feel like a fat lump ;)

Hear, hear, Sam;) :p :p :p

I've just been sorting our photo's from last week at WDW, and the one thing that struck me was the huge grin on my DD,9, face in every photo. We don't see that so much at home! As soon as we arrived she said 'oh I remember this smell' I hadn't even noticed a smell, but she obviously meant the Florida aroma mentioned on this thread! I just love the dawn, the peace then really is magical. And having a good scream on the rides!!

For me its the heat, the food, stuffing yourself with lobster and prime rib, not worrying about work and not caring what I look like with a Minnie Mouse T-shirt and hat on my head. Bliss!!!!!!!!

I've never noticed a "smell" i'm going to sniff it out in August.

I miss the escape of everyday, boring, routine....
I miss the fab customer service EVERYWHERE!!
I miss the enthusiasm i feel on every ride and joining in on the cheering/clapping/singing and laughing with my boyfriend cos we are doing the cheering/clapping/singing etc. (wouldn't do it here - just not cool!)
I miss the eating out everynite....
I miss the quality time i spend with my boyfriend instead of just weekends and couple of hours per nite (yes, we live together but you must know what i mean!)

But hey, if i was there all the time would i miss this anticipated, excited feeling of the count down to departure? (nah!!!)

I miss quite a bit, and I am a lot closer to Florida than most of you.

We only live 850 miles (1368 km) from Orlando, a scant 13 hour drive, but we miss it as soon as we leave.

Perhaps it is the absence of Washington, DC traffic. Maybe it is the weather (not that it doesn't get terribly hot here!). It could be that when I am in florida, I am there with my two favorite people, having the time of my life.

Whatever it is... I am going to get another dose of it in less than 3 weeks!

Woooo hoooo!

Bill, slightly mad this morning

I just miss being there. Disney makes me feel that the the Bull S*** at work is worth it as long as there is places like this. The whole place just makes me feel like a kid again and I love that. :D

The smell too!! It's the hot tarmac and the rain I think!
Also the wide choice of places to eat, here we have ummm....well McDonalds and KFC and thats it.
The brilliant customer service and tthe high expectation of it that US citizens have!
Zillions of channels on Cable and never watching all of one programme because there might be something better on another one!!
And my own favourite.......
Getting up before any of the family on the first morning, watching the Florida sun rise pink & turquoise (yes I am up that early!!) and drinking my first cup of coffee watching rolling local news programmes:Pinkbounc

I miss everything.
The smell, the sounds, Disney, the weather, the shops, the food, the atmosphere.....Everything:)
Thats why we keep going back;)

All of the above.

Actually, for those who long to see the US, come to Chicago. As the original Mayor Daley said to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip on their royal visit to Chicago in 1959, "come back and bring the kids next time".

Definately the SMELL! I think its the water or the air con, but I smell it as soon as I step off the plane! Heaven!

It always feels like coming home, not going on holiday if that makes sense(I think another poster mentioned this).....we didnt think we would be going back this year, but DH cracked in March as the thought of NOT going was making us all miserable......hence we are off for 16 days in June:D

We used to miss the food, but now we have a Chilis, TGIs, Outback Steakhouse, Macaroni Grill and a Chinese Buffet less than a mile from our house things dont seem so bad on that score anymore!

I just miss BEING THERE!

Allie.
