Why do we all keep going back?

That initial stroll up Main Street. The castle's in view, it's not too crowded, the Park's clean, and the expectation of having fun as long as I want to. We took a slower pace in November and we've never had a better vacation. But we only go every 3-4 years. It makes it just like new every time.

I keep going back because there is nothing better than walking down Main Street, hearing the music, smelling the smells, seeing the castle for the first time of the day. It's magical.

It's a prime destination for me because it's somewhere warm, and it's somewhere a young woman can safely travel solo! I also love to bring anyone with me to share the magic with them, to see if through a first timer's eyes is incredible. Nothing will beat during the Move It Shake it on my Mom's first trip when she got pulled into the dance party by Timon and he danced with only her for the entire thing! She was thrown right into the magic and now she loves it.

It's this little bubble of magic and happy and emotions that escapes you from the real world for a few days, weeks, however long you're there where you can fight pirates, save the galaxy, venture around the world, soar over California, go on a two week safari, and dance with princesses! There's no place like it!

We went 10 years ago and fell in love. Great resorts surrounded by so many things to do. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy family time. We bought DVC a few years ago and now have an awesome vacation home waiting for me. Love the Florida weather but not a big fan of the ocean... (it's OK from the shore ;)) I always feel pretty safe and secure in WDW.

I find it entertaining that many of the folks who ask me why I head back down to WDW again every year are the hypocrites who rent a beach house at the same Jersey shore location year after year. Similar to WDW, it's still the same location :confused3

Yes!!!! Exactly!

Or go on no vacations at all.

I don't go every year or multiple times a year because we like to go other places also. But I try to go every 2-3 years.

But my answer is always "I work....it's my money....and we love it."

Until someone pays my bills then they will get a more thorough answer.

Everyone has hit on reasons why we continue to go back. But, I think our #1 reason is because of the wonderful customer service. Every trip we've been to, even on DCL, we are treated like royalty.

Disney's got the right formula - they know how to make their customer base happy, so that they return time and time again!!!

Yes totally agree with this. We have people say " your going to Disney again, you were just there", these are the people that go to the same beach every yr, so why is Disney any different?? Lol

Love this! Nothing like walking down main street to see the castle & hear the music!!! Breathtaking every trip. I love how once we arrive nothing else matters! I love how its a vacation destination with all the different resorts, the buses do the driving so we can just sit back and relax!

We love wdw, we live in florida so we try to go at least two times a year but no way would I spend that much time there.. There is soooo much world out there to see and I want my kids to see that there is more out there then wdw, dont get me wrong like i said we do love wdw but there is such a thing as " to much of a good thing" but I would not tell others how to spend their vacations.

Yes there Is a lot of world out there, but there is no world like WDW:goodvibes. There has been so many comments that reflect on how we all feel about WDW and there will be many more:cool1:. The thought that comes to my mind is like that a warm blanket, you always use,its always there and just makes you feel just right. From the CM to the parks, the resorts and for me the golf i just can not imagin vacationing anywhere else.
This Oct trip will be the first solo trip, it will be hard with out my DS, the best son in the world and my best friend in the world. The thing that makes me want to keep going Is the thoughts of WDW and the wonderfull CM and vistors there.
Yep all of the folks here on Dis!!:grouphug: and the people that goto the parks. Its the only place i have ever gone where everyone (most of the time) is so truly happy to be there, and where people smile at you and its not made up. Its like a huge Family gathering. Now I know we here on Dis love Disney so It will always be great everything the Mouse, but i think truley people see Disney as a reprive from our everyday madness called liveing! It Is for Me.:goodvibes

We keep going back because its the only vacation we've ever been on anywhere that once you enter the "disney bubble" the outside world ceases to exist. All thats good in the world is right there and there is no place I'd rather be...:cloud9:
:thumbsup2 This. And they have great customer service.

That sums it up for me too! :)

I think it's a great place to watch your family grow and change over the years. DH and I started going pre-kids. We took our 1 year old DS this year and it was a completely different vacation. We are already planning his 2 year old trip and thinking about how that again will be completely different. As he gets older, every year he will be able to go on thrill rides, be able to do different things (Jedi Training, Pirates League, etc), he'll have new interests in things he never had before, and there will be new exciting attractions. It will never be the same trip twice, even though its the same place. Our DS is 1 and we already daydream about when we will bring our grandchildren :)

I go for the tradition, for the memories, for the feeling of going through the turnstyle and nurturing my inner 5 y/o I go because I wouldn't be happier at any other vacation place. I go because life is tough, responsibilities are high, and I leave it all behind me for a few hours, days, or weeks I go because I have those little shiny Mickey heads on my DNA :goodvibes

I think those of us( and I am one) who keeps getting this question of why we go so much need to find a new group of friends, DISNEY friends!!!!! They won't have to ask, they will know!! Lol. We go because it is the happiest place on earth! We can all relax, I have PTSD and sometimes just need to forget about work, bills and life. Jobs get very stressful and we loose sight of whats important in life, family. The weight if the world goes away as soon as I walk through the tunnel into MK! I don't have to worry about everyone else for a change( even though I still do some, can't take the firefighter out me no matter where I am!) I can see my kids do all I did as a kid and more. Price is not bad and to get away from Maine in February is GREAT!!!

I gave my aunt some money a couple of days ago to put in our safe-my next round of saving to pay off the December WDW trip. I've been giving her money to put in the safe since September 2012 for this trip and she said, "All this saving and it's over in a week! You can get two or even three weeks somewhere else!"

I tried to tell her that for me and my sister it's *not* just a vacation, that it's an experience, that it's an escape from the everyday world and that it's magical and wonderful and familiar and safe. It's my refuge. She just shook her head, didn't get it at all. "You and your Disney," she said. That's right. Me and *my* Disney.

You guys have said it all. I just wanted to say I have the magic of disney on my ipad. I put on 'he's a pirate' music and it takes my breath away. I am there in the shop in Magic Kingdom outside POC .... I have terrible health issues DW is a CEO and my carer. We are only 42 & 45 to e struck by such bad luck. But at Disney I don't feel disabled, DW doesn't feel in charge of a company. Everything has elevators, even a roll in shower for me in my resort room. DW switches off as somebody tells her to step in line...just enjoy...get on a bus...laugh...joke. We feel truly 'free'. It starts on the ME and finishes boarding the plane. 2 weeks of a vacation away from ourselves in a way! But more myself than I ever do anywhere else.

I couldn't agree more...I usually only go for 2 nights at a time (live in Florida so I can go a lot) but for those few days, I feel like I am in another world, literally. Then I drive away on the 3rd day and realize...Huh? The world outside continued to spin. It's a strange, but wonderful feeling.

It's been 23 years since our first Disney visit. First we went with our children and now it's our grandchildren (or just DH and me).

Why, because it's Disney and it's the best!
