Why do they put cotton on top of pill bottles?!

I had a stinkin headache and it got about 10 times worse cause i couldn't get the cotton out of the bottle so i could take some advil!! AUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same reason they put child caps on them, to give us a worse headache so we will take more and spend more buying them.

When I had a headache in Russia, I bought a bottle of ibuprofen that was dirt cheap and the same dosage as here. It came in a glass bottle with an easily screwed off cap.

I saved the bottle, and now, when I buy some, I switch it to that bottle. It helps in not making the headache worse, or hurting my fingers because I didn't line the arrows up right on the American, plastic bottle.

Thanks for the link, jfulcer. I always thought the cotton was to keep the pills from sloshing around and getting broken, silly me.

...COTTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stand to touch it! The pill bottle with the cotton thing has been the bane of my existence! I usually use tweezers or scissors to get it out!

They put the cotton in there so that when you yank the cotton out, all the tablets fling out of the bottle so you'll have to go buy another bottle. It's a money marketing scheme.
