Why do some people do this?

These boards have alot of interesting subjects, people who use them.
That's why I enjoy them!

When people make up a new thread and ask or suggest something why does someone always have to make some dumb stupid arrogant comment?
If they are such the know-it-all why are they on here to begin with?!
This is my biggest PEVE about these threads/forums!!!!

Have fun people lighten up we are talking about DISNEY/VACATIONS/FUN IN THE SUN!!!!!!!

I agree with you - sometimes I actually reconsider posting because I dont want to get flamed. Dh cannot believe the same people spending time on boards devoted to disney actually flame. But FLAME they do, although sometimes they add LOL after their harsh comments. as if that softens the blow!

They're here because they ARE know-it-alls and they NEED the rest of us to fall on our knees and worship them and their intelligence that is just so superior to ours that we couldn't possibly comprehend what it's like to be them.

This said, I've been a chat moderator since 1995 and I can truely say the Disboards have one of the nicest group of people and more a sense of community than any other board I've either worked on or been a part of. There's always a few bad apples in an orchard. You live with them, but don't remember them the way you do when you find the perfect one I like this orchard.

My favorite is when someone says, for instance,
"I would like to hear from anyone who has stayed at both the POFQ and BW--which did you prefer and why?"

and the answer someone gives is

"I haven't stayed at either of them! But I would recommend the Poly!"


Did they even read the question? Some people just talk because they like to hear themselves talk!

And you know what I don't like. People who call people names, and put a smiley face at the end, like the above post.
I've gotten tons of great advice from lots of people on this board. So maybe once in a while someone doesn't answer a question the way you think they should. So ignore it. In most cases people have been great and very helpful, and we would never have made all the trips to Disney without the help of those on this budget board...even the people you may consider know it alls, have helped us save money.

I'm not at all sure why this post would be on the budget board, but I do have the popcorn all popped.

Well, I am GUESSING it is on the Budget Board because the OP was upset by something said on this board. But I don't know.

Why do you think it's funny? What I'm trying to get across is that some people take on a completely different personality when they feel they can say or do whatever they want. I'm not saying it's right...just that it happens. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the nastiest comments on public forums come from someone that is typically meek or timid in "real life".

I must agree that I find it sad that people need to be make posters feel like thay have asked a stupid question...I have never heard of a stupid question, only stupid answers... peace out..
