What is about lines that make people think that SOMEHOW they will get there faster if they stand right on top of the person in front of them????? Like that extra 2 feet of space is only thing standing between them and actually getting to the front??
Everything we rode was pretty much walk on, or a 5 min. wait. The que lines were EMPTY!! But if there was even a momentary delay, the person behind me would be standing on my heels--WHY??? It was hot and sticky--I know I had to smell pretty bad--I sweat a lot in the heat. Could they not take a step back and allow some air flow???
THE WORST was in line at the food court at POP our last day. My dd10 all the sudden yelled "OW". Then she whispered to me, "That lady just hit me in the back with her tray." Sure enough the lady was standing as close as she could get and had the corner of her tray jammed in DD's back.
Since I had space between us and the couple in front of us I took a step forward and had DD move up a tiny bit. YEP--Lady moved forward and stuck the tray in DD's back. So I pullled DD in front of me and switched places thining that with a bigger person to see maybe she would notice that we were in that space she was trying to occupy. NOPE--now the tray was in my fanny--
WHO WANTS TO EAT FOOD THAT HAS BEEN THAT CLOSE TO SOMEONES BACKEND????? (lucky for her I didn't have gas!)
At this point we already closer to the people in front of us than I am comfortable with so we couldn't move until the line moved. When it moved I took a small step forward to preserve the space in front of us. Lady moves and shoves the tray in my hip (I had turned to the side). I am totally not a confrontational person but it was our last day and I was tired and cranky!!! I HAD HAD IT!!!
I took another step forward to get away from the tray and as soon as I saw her start to move I said (in as pleasant an annoyed voice that I could!) "Could you please stay where you are? You keep crowding us and shoving your tray into us."
Well, you would have thought I had just insulted her entire family and called her nasty names. Instead of just a polite, oh I am so sorry, she got all huffy and attitudy and said "Well, I am just trying to keep the line moving".
I said to her, " THE LINE ISN'T MOVING, WE ARE!!! We are trying to get away from you and your tray!"
We were next to check out and so she was then being unreasonable and when we moved up to pay she stayed where she was so while we were checking out she was about 6 ft away!!! Fine with me, but it would have been even funnier if someone had cut in front of her while she was making her "statement".
PERSONAL SPACE PEOPLE!!! You do not have to stand on top of the person in front of you--it doesn't get you there any faster!!!
Off my soapbox now!

. I understand your point! I hate when people crowd me.
