I arrived at OKW last night. When I checked into my unit I noticed the place smelled smokey. It also wasn't very clean. I found wine corks under a table, pillows missing, spots on the carpet .... It's like a wild party happened in here last week.

It's in the 50's but I have the doors open to get air in here.

I'll let the front desk know today. Why do people do this? So inconsiderate!

Those smokers that do this are just inconsiderate people. :sad2: Probably inconsiderate in other ways too. Sounds like mousekeeping wasn't so considerate either. Hope this gets fixed for you today.

Margie, do not call the Front desk, you will get the Call Center. Call the Houskeeping button on the phone, ask to speak to the on duty manager. He or she can't do anything about the fact someone smoked in the room but they can clean it and air it with an ionizer. You will have to be willing to get them several hours to do this, maybe while you are gone to a park.

As to why people do this, I think as fewer smoking rooms are available it will only get worse. Unless Disney is going to fine those that smoke in NS rooms, it will not stop.

Keep in mind that many smokers have reported that they requested a non-smoking room and none was available. And many have also reported that the CM told them to go ahead and smoke in the room! :smokin:

You'd think the smoker would at least step out on the balcony (which also irritates many) but just in the interest of both sides of the story, it's not always just a case of a smoker rudely ignoring the rules.

They do it because Disney chooses to let them.
