Why do I have a negative reputation?

Tonight I noticed a little red mark under my profile. I looked it up and it says I have a "negative" reputation. I have never posted anything rude or mean. I was wondering why I would have this attached to my name? It's a bit upsetting.

I don't know but wanted you to know it does not show up on your posts for others to see. Maybe someone pushed the "report" button on you by mistake?

I know I was a little confused that someeone called "board tracker" visited my profile. I have no idea what that means. I looked at a few other profies randomly and don't see that person looked at theirs, so it makes me wonder, "what did I do?" too, lol, but I bet you didn't do anything. Then again, lots of people get offended by some strange things these days, so who knows.

I bet you did nothing. I assume you would get some kind of message if it was anything.

Don't let it bother you and I'll try to do the same. It's just a message board.

There's no dot visible under your name that I can see, if that makes you feel any better

That little red dot means you are in "invisible" mode...meaning when someone looks at your profile, you appear to be offline. When the dot is green...it means you're online...grey means offline and you are the only one who can see the red dot.

BTW...the DIS doesn't do reputation points like some other boards do. I hate those since it usually turns into a popularity contest.

Metro is exactly right. Those dots are just to show if you are online or offline. Some people choose to be "invisible" so it always looks to others like they are offline. You also see some that appear to be online, but they have just not logged out so they really aren't around-- I do that all the time and people wonder why I don't respond to a PM immediately since it looks like I am here.

Thank you for clearing this up for me. I was so worried I had offended someone which would never be something I would try to do.
