Why do foreign ebay buyers not read specifications?

Ugh, I am seriously stressing out right now! I put a GC up for auction on ebay, stated specifically in my listing and made sure to click the box ~ No International Shipping!
The winning bidder? From Shanghai :headache:

I am not shipping this GC to China ~ and I leave for WDW in 2 days so I don't have a lot of time to deal with it. Any suggestions? :flower3:

I did file a case to cancel the transaction ~ but I have never done this before and I am hoping this buyer won't fight it. :guilty: Now they have 7 days to respond so I will have to deal with it from WDW I guess.

I have had this happen to me too and it is really annoying. I ended up just sending the items overseas since the buyer paid the additional shipping costs. I wish eBay would just prevent international bidders from bidding on auctions that have clicked the "No International Shipping" box, would make it so much easier.

If you go into your seller settings you are able to block bids from international bidders, etc.

If you're ad clearly stated no international shipping then theres no need to wait the 7 days from an invalid buyers response. I was able to cancel the bid and offer the item to the 2nd place bidder. There are a few ways to go about doing that.

I don't sell to other countries and I specifically disallow bidders whose location states that they are in another country. They can not even bid. I had a very nice person from Mexico ask me several times to change the setting so they could bid on something I had. It was a childrens book and they wanted it for their child and were willing to pay $15 shipping so I allowed it. Ended up being one of the smoothest transactions I have ever had and one of the nicest buyers I've ever worked with.

But the point being, until I unselected the box, he couldn't even bid.

They can't file something against you for cancelling their bid...they did not follow your terms. (ETA to add the "not")

Otherwise, I never ship out of the US solely because unless it is shipped with some sort of delivery confirmation, they can say they did not receive it and file a non-receipt claim against YOU. Electronic proof is what they always go by. If you don't have it, you can't prove anything.

Same thing for not taking PayPal for, say, furniture that the buyer comes and picks up. No electronic receipt of them receiving the goods. Cash only.

You can definitely cancel the sale with no wait on e-bay if you selected the bidder lives in country to which I will not ship option as a reason for canceling the transaction when you were in the resolution center. You should be able to cancel the sale by going to the resolution center and choosing cancel resolution and then you can immediately offer the next bidder the item. You may have to contact e-bay about getting your fees refunded but usually they will if the bidder violated the rules of the auction.

Thank you so much for all the input! :goodvibes

As of this evening, the buyer is not responding. I will offer it to the next highest bidder as a second chance in the morning if I still haven't heard anything. Thanks again!

You don't have to unselect the box to allow specific international bidders. You simply have to add their user name to your Buyer Exception list. I do it all the time when someone asks if they can bid (after I check their feedback, of course)

Domestic buyers don't read the terms and conditions, either... it is not just international folks....

International people can get around the rules, even if you have blocked all international bidders, by registering in the USA with EbayUS. And then changing their shipping information after registration to their international address. Happened to me before.

Since you had it stated in the auction, you are fine. Don't fret and enjoy your vacation.

If they are willing to pay money (it's up to you whether to accept money orders) then it is okay to ship overseas. You do not have to take Paypal for this.
