Why do characters wear their normal outfits at Chef Mickeys?

I have never understood this.

I would have thought that Mickey would be in a chefs hat and the other characters wearing chefs clothes.

I always thought this was Disneyland Paris being lazy.

You mean Cafe Mickey? Perhaps it's because he's the proprietor and employs a chef to do the cooking? ;) Or maybe it's just DLP being not very imaginative!

BTW, love your signature photo! :)

Sorry i meant Cafe Mickey.

Thanks!

I think your mixing up the name demonstrates part of the confusion. Yes, in Florida Mickey is the chef but this has never to my knowledge been part of the story in DLP. He is the host in Paris. :goodvibes

Sunshine1 where did you get the picture with Oswald?

He's the one character I'd love to see in DLP!

Mickey was in his chef whites when we first met him at Cafe Mickey at DLP way back in early 2007, but when we returned to the resort later that year he wasn't wearing whites anymore, he was in his regular outfit.

Oswald is great isnt he.

I did a two week holiday this year where i went to Disneyland for the 60th anniversary for 3 days and did 10 days at WDW.

It was a bit too ambitious. Was exhausted most of the time!
I should have done one or the other.

Oswald was at California Adventure. Instead of heading straight for the rides i hung around the entrance at opening to see him and the other characters.
Oswald even got his own shop in the form of a garage near where he meets near the entrance.

You met Baymax, nice one :-)

I wonder why they changed his outfit.

That was before my Disney adventure started Elaine :)

The first time we went to DLP was 2005 - I'm just going to look at my photos to see if we ever saw him in chef whites.

ETA: Just looked through my photos and we didn't even meet him when we went there in 2005! Must have been his night off! Next meal there was Halloween 2007 when (and in subsequent visits) he's always been wearing his usual suit.

We first went to Cafe Mickey in 2005 and our pics show Mickey in his normal outfit. I think 2005 was the first year Cafe Mickey opened, it was LA Bar and Grill previously, and character breakfasts were held there.

Yeah, went WDW last year and waited over an hour to get a picture with him (after watching BH6 the day before) Hiro's interaction was fantastic!

We're going to WDW again next year but Anahiem has got to be our next priority! The only downside is every time we plan to go somewhere else it means we don't get to go to DLP!

Is Disneyland Paris your favourite park

In the end I had to 'ban' myself from visiting DLP until the 25th celebrations in 2017 - if only I had the money, and the time, for multiple trips to ALL the Disney parks every year!

Julie - love the photo of your lovely children and Mickey. :)

I first went to DLP in 1996. I won the holiday and part of the prize was breakfast at cafe mickey. He was in his normal clothes back then!

We love WDW and the whole experience over there, however DLP was the first park we went to, its the one where we had our honeymoon and I think its the most attractive park out there.

Last night's events has really enforced just how deeply we care for Paris and our DLP!
