Why DLH Tower Refurbishments?

Hi,

We stayed at the DLH in March 2011, in an extremely newly refurbished room, in the Dreams tower, the ones with the "dream is a wish your heart makes" theme. And they were in the process of refurbishing other rooms when we were there also, which they are probably still doing to this day.

Now, if they are changing the towers to Fantasy, Adventure, and Frontier (which I hear they did last month), why would they refurbish the rooms to be dreamsy themed? Are they going to refurbish again? Or, is this their plan to have the rooms stay like this, while the towers are land-themed? Does anyone know how the land-themes will be portrayed? I love their new refurbishments, but I was under the impression that the rooms would be land-themed also, which I was not so looking forward to.

Does anyone know?
Thanks guys. :)

I've though it was a little strange all the regular rooms are the same. The Suites on top of each tower better follow the Adventure, Fantasy and Frontier themes. The lobbies and outdoor area just outside the towers also go with the tower theme.

I can tell you that we stayed there in June and supposedly the names had already changed although the CMs were all still referring to them by their old names. We stayed in the Wonder Tower, which I presume is now the Frontier Tower, BECAUSE there is a model of Big Thunder in the lobby. The model is very cool, but it was the only thing I noticed that was way "Frontier"

I suspect that the towers were renamed to go along with the general retheming of DLH to be DL-like...ie the Monorail slide, the new E ticket pool. I wouldn't expect the rooms to change...

You didn't stay in a "dream is a wish your heart makes" room--that is just the look of all the newly renovated rooms at the DLH. So they all look like that (or will when complete) with the dark wood, light up headboard (playing that tune) and redesigned DLH touches. They are renaming the towers as part of the last phase in the remodeling process--trying to make the names more DLR themed.

In 2007 the tower names were changed from Marina, Sierra, and Bonita Towers and were renamed Magic, Dreams, and Wonder. From what I was told, this was tied in with the Disney Cruise names. Now, with the extensive remodel, they want to get away from the cruise theme, and make the theme match more up with Disneyland Resort. The rooms themselves will remain in their newly renovated state, but the names of the towers will change as part of the last phase of the remodel. I believe some landscaping and outsite of lobby work is still to be completed connecting these new names with the theme of the towers.
