I don't mean 'you' personally...I mean it in the most general sense.
I think that Mom may have been referring to you and me... or at least I took it that wayDid you mean me?![]()

I just got home and just saw the thread. We had an incident on Tuesday night at BWV, going to MNSSHP. We got to the bus stop and the shelter was full. An MK bus finally came and everyone piled on. We decided to wait for the next one since there were already standees. Waited probably 15 or 20 min, another one came, we were close to the front of the line. A wheelchair was loaded in the back. After they were loaded, the door was still open so the people in the back of the line piled on through the back door. The driver took awhile to get back to the front to open the front door, meanwhile people poured in the back door, leaving those of us who were waiting the longest standing on the curb.

No, it was not you two...man, some people think it's always about 'them'!!!Ah, yes, modern English and the lack of an impersonal vs personal 'you'. The lack of a second person singular pronoun makes things truly confusing. Had we been conversing in German or French this would have been far more clear.

But I did offer her some chocolate and I believe that we are all good now!![]()
No problem if that subject gets reopened, but you are going to have to do it nicely. You guys start getting personal again, and I'll shut it down again. (as she laughs fiendishly..enjoying the huge power she holds....NOT).

I hate when my child gets up and offers his seat to a woman standing next to him (yes, I'm proud) and then she says thank you and gives it to her child/grandchild who is old enough to stand.

However, if you swing a chocolate bar in front of me, I will become your new best friend.![]()

We also either stood, or waited for the next bus depending on how we felt - a couple of times someone gave up their seat for me (I had one horrific swollen ankle) BUT I always offered it to DD first - and tried to say it so the person understood "DD how's your sugar levels? do you need to sit?" and she always needed to sit -
so if you were in the World last week, and at Pop, know you were doing a service giving your seat up for DD - and I thank you!
