Maybe not verbally, but mine certainly show it

I have one human little girl who brings me great joy and one feline little girl who does too.
What is the arguement here?![]()
I think both are great. Not the same, but great.
(the kids being the Hagen Daz....duh!)

To reply to all who say their cats wake them in the middle of the night, try this:
I've had cats for the past 29 years and we have always put our cats "to bed" each night. All you need is a room or basement with food, water and a litterbox and maybe a little bed (my cats prefer a basket of laundry that is waiting to be done).

but like I always said, they're like having children with a terminal disease. They don't outlive you but they give you so much pleasure while they are there.Originally posted by katerkat
Or, you know, you could just close the door to YOUR bedroom! We close the boys out every night and let them wander the house freely.

why cucumbers......" ........ummmmm.....nevermind

But the years of joy they give me is worth it!Originally posted by crazymomof4
Ya, but then my little ones have a bad dream and come running down the dark hall to my room and BAM right into my closed door! Now I have a bloody nose to take care of!
Seriously, this would not work for us, in the winter we heat with an airtight wood stove and need to have the bedroom doors open for heat.

Not everybody desires the "I love you, Mommy", but, for those who do, a cat can't compare. I don't desire children.
I just don't desire children of my own. I love my cats. Some would say I'm missing out....I don't feel that way since the desire was never there. I have a happy full life.
It's not for everyone, but neither is having children. Cats are better for ME based on what I want out of life.
Good for you for being mature enough to be very confident about your choice!
