I've read so many dining reports over the past couple of years, and I am going to try to do one as well. We ate at a LOT of character meals, and had so much fun. I am looking for the thread that explains how to do links and/or post pictures, because I'm not sure how yet.

Either way, here are some introductions:

Me: I'm Stephanie. I'm 35 and haven't been to Disney for about 25 years. I had a feeling I would love it, but I love it so much more than I thought possible!

DH: DH is 40. He hasn't been to Disney in about the same amount of years, but he remembered more than I did. He is the one who had some issues with clothes "shrinking" on our trip!

DS: OasterP. He just turned four years old right before this trip and it's obviously his first trip. We were super excited to take him but a little nervous about such a long trip. We had our ups and downs, but overall it was a huge success. We purchased annual passes because we knew we had trip planned with my inlaws next September, and we are going to try to fit a trip in April of 2015! For that one we would have to drive though, so we'll see! Fourteen + hours in a car is a long time!

Let's see if this works. Here we are!

Ok that's huge but you get the point. I am going to work on getting pictures from my cell phone onto photobucket tomorrow so I can start posting all of our goodies! But here is our lineup. This trip was amazing, and while we weren't the most adventurous eaters, I hope this helps give some ideas!

Ok I think I've got them uploading, so I'll get started. The first was breakfast the day we were leaving. We had all eaten something small at home, as our plane was supposed to leave at 8:30 a.m. However, we ended up with a four hour delays so obviously snacks were necessary. OasterP had apple jacks- healthy choice.

By the time we got to the resort it was too late for lunch so we decided to just hang on until dinner. Our first meal of the trip was T. Rex! We had this dinner planned with friends that had traveled with us - we were all at different tables but in the same restaurant.

Here is what Oaster P ordered: Children's Mac N Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. Dessert was the children's ice cream sundae.

I decided to order the Children's Grilled Chicken with Broccoli. This was actually really good! I'm not sure if I was just really hungry or it was really good, but either way - I enjoyed it! And it was a really large amount of food for a children's meal.

DH is a very picky eater. He has a list of maybe ten things he likes to eat, desserts aside. You will see a pattern in his food. Sometimes it will seem like I'm just posting my four year olds choices twice! Here is what he got. Cheese sticks and French fries. For dessert he had the Chocolate Extinction. This is an insane amount of food. I had two bites, he ate one piece of the cake and the ice cream and the rest was his breakfast the rest of the trip and we STILL ended up throwing some out!

Overall this was a really decent meal and the service was fantastic! It definitely is very loud, so be prepared for that. My son loved it though and so did the other kids. I definitely think it's a fun one to do if you have kids or adults who like dinosaurs.

The next morning we had breakfast planned at Chef Mickey. I was extremely excited about this reservation as my son got to meet the main characters right away. I didn't expect anything amazing as far as food, but I was pleasantly surprised at the experience itself. The restaurant was clean and well run. The characters were a bit chaotic, but a lot of fun and definitely took enough time with the interaction I thought.

I'll start with Owen's plate(s). Pretty much at all the character meals he would eat a few bites of food but was just really distracted by everything going on around him.

Pancakes and Watermelon

Donut hole

I know he had a Mickey Waffle, so that must have been grabbed off the plate before I got a picture.

We were celebrating (late) his birthday which had been a couple of weeks earlier, and he got a signed card from the characters - super cute.

My plates. I tried a Mickey Waffle, because how can you not? Pretty darn good!

Oatmeal with brown sugar

Plate 2. Mixed fruit, Egg with mushroom, Mickey Waffle, Hard Boiled Egg, and some grapes.

DH likes his carbs. Plate 1: Donut holes, Mickey Waffle, Pancakes

Plate 2: Bagel, more Mickey Waffles and French Toast

Characters!

The Goof

The Mouse himself!

Minnie (super cute)

Donald

Pluto (so much fun!)

Ok it's 2 a.m. and I just got home from our trip Thursday evening, so I need to get to bed. Next up is our dinner at CRT. This was planned mostly for me I'll admit, but we had ordered a cake for Owen's birthday, and I was insanely excited to eat in the castle!

Ok I lied because I can't sleep, so here we go - CRT! I had been looking forward to this since I convinced my husband to use two TS credits on it. I mean seriously - it's the castle! We had ordered a cake for my sons birthday to have at dinner, as I wasn't sure DH could find anything he wanted to eat, and since Oasters birthday had already passed I wanted to do the celebration early.

We went back to the resort mid day and cleaned up and got ready for dinner. It had rained (of course) so it was nice to get refreshed. We got the bus back to MK and were on our way to dinner! Check in was pretty easy and soon enough we were inside the castle.

The building is so beautiful - I know they are closing for a while to refurnish or whatever, but I thought it looked great.

At this point they were still giving the printed picture of Cinderella with the package. The picture they took was even cuter than the one with my camera, but I was extremely happy with Cinderella and the photo. We chose the one with just OasterP for the package, but both pictures were good.

We had a bit of a wait and then were called upstairs. Such anticipation :)

While we were there a couple got engaged! It was quite sweet. We ordered our food and then the princesses started to come around.

Snow White. She was cute, but DH and I agreed she was a bit rushed.

Aurora - Cute but not our favorite.

Ariel - She was lots of fun. She used the dingelhopper in my sons hair and just played around. I liked her a lot.

Jasmine - Despite my son trying to stab her with his new sword she was great with him. And gorgeous!

And now the food! I've heard mixed reviews about the food, and I don't always love food at restaurants so I was interested to see what we thought, but I thought it was delicious!!

First Oaster. The children's menu.

His choices

Grapes and Cheese. He had planned on ordering this, but a waiter brought it to him before we even ordered! It was so nice! I don't know if he saw the birthday button or just had an extra, but either way - we really appreciated it.

Chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, and corn

He never got the dessert he ordered, but it didn't matter since we had cake coming!

Adult Menu

You got an appetizer, an entrée, a dessert and a drink as a part of this meal.

I ordered as my appetizer Crawfish with shrimp and grits. AMAZING. I wanted to limit the amount I ate of it, because it was very rich, but I had trouble stopping.

DH appetizer was the castle salad. He didn't really touch much of this, but he tried.

On to entrees.

I had something I can't find on the menu now. It was gnocchi with roasted vegetables with a balsamic glaze. I really loved this dish.

DH branched out a bit and had the fish of the day, which I believe was salmon, which is good, b/c it's one that he will eat. He did cover it in ketchup, but what can you do? He thought it was ok, but he's really not a great judge of food. It looked delicious but I didn't taste it.

For dessert I ordered the Trio. It had a pumpkin cheesecake, a pistachio dessert that I don't think I tried, and a really rich chocolate cake. The ones I tried were amazing but incredibly rich. I just had a taste because I knew we had ordered cake.

Todd had The Clock Strikes Twelve signature dessert. He absolutely loved it!

Then they brought out Owen's cake! The waitress was extremely rushed but still nice. She got candles for Owen and sang and Owen blew out the candles. He absolutely loved it. The cake was adorable - even better than I had hoped. I was so full so only had a taste. It was good but not amazing. Definitely good though, but there are better desserts to be had in WDW. I still think it was worth the money, but it was SO much cake and I wouldn't do it again for the three of us. We gave half of it to friends of ours, Todd had some for breakfast and we still threw about a quarter of it away because the dining plan has so much food!

I have a picture of it inside somewhere but can't find it. Either way it was white cake, white icing and a chocolate icing layer in the middle.

Love this so far, I will definitely be following along!! You guys are soooo cute:goodvibes

These delicious looking treats were at the Confectionary. We were all ridiculously full so never bought one, but I thought they were cute so I took a picture.

I never did get to try these, but I bet they were amazing.

subscribing. Such a fun thread. I love looking at all this Disney food in anticipation of our next trip. So did 1 person eat plate 1 and 2 at CM? Looked so yummy but thought I might have a sugar crash lol.

Yup that would be my DH!! He loves his junk food!

I just lost an entire large message on Tusker House! Well here I go again. I was very much looking forward to this meal. It was the one I planned first at 180 days (when I thought we were only having one character meal).

I ended up being a bit disappointed with the food and experience, which was a bit of a bummer. It definitely wasn't awful and I still think people should give it a try. It just seemed extremely chaotic and rushed. And DH had trouble finding things to eat, but I don't hold that against the buffet as he's very picky.

Owen's plate:

Macaroni and cheese, some applesauce, corn dog nuggets, mashed potatoes, turkey lunch meat, a couple of grapes and some corn. Sorry it's so blurry - really not sure what happened here.

My plates: Plate 1 Fruit. You will find that I love fruit and eat it whenever I can.

Paper Straw

My Plate 2: Spicy tofu, seafood stew and rice, bourbon chicken (I think), green beans, basmati rice, and a slice of pork. I tasted all of this and it was all pretty decent. Nothing amazing, but I did eat all the tofu - definitely my favorite (if you like tofu).

DH Plate (similar to DS). Pretty much a duplicate of O's except with the addition of wedge potatoes and corn bread.

Todd's (DH) dessert plate. He didn't finish the little lava cakes so I'm not sure they were amazing.

Shared desserts. I tried the baklava but didn't like it, Owen loved the mini carrot cake, and I loved the bread pudding. And the fruit was mine :)

I'm here, I'm here! Glad to see you didn't sucumb to any wandering snakes! :lmao: Following!

That night we ate at Pop Century but I forgot to take pictures! I think Owen had a meatball sub, Todd had spaghetti and meatballs and I know I had a tofu dish (I really love tofu). I do have pictures of some desserts from Pop Century though that we tried. We traveled down to WDW with some friends of ours and had connecting rooms, so our one friends ended up with all the desserts we wanted to try and didn't finish. I'm not sure he minded THAT much.

In full disclosure I'll admit that part of the reason I might not have pictures of the food is I was a *bit* cranky about two days of almost all day rain. But after that night I acclimated and embraced the rain from there on out!

I did find a picture of Owen's meatball sub and chips

The King Cupcake. I had been wanting to try this, and Todd wasn't so sure. This is one our friend got the majority of, but I tried a delicious bite with all the goodness included and I thought it was good!

Apple Blossom (or whatever it's called there). This was warm and really good.
