So, next week, on Tuesday we are heading to Gatwick after i finish work, thing is i just can't get motivated to do anything! I haven't washed any of my holiday clothes, the only thing i have packed is my swimming stuff, i have no holiday money, haven't had my hair done, or even thought of making an appointment and hardly made an itenerary, but i have made some ADR's. I am excited but for some reason, since im still at work i just can't get VERY excited! WHY!oh WHY! (plus i am out all weekend).HELLLLLLLLLLLLP

Hmmm... I think this is all a cunning plan to ensure you have no clean clothing available for your holiday thus creating an urgent need for a full on shopping rampage in Orlando.

I can pop round and do your hair if you like. I've got a sharp pair of hedge cutters.
Always like to be of asistance.

Nice try kev.....think i'd prefer to have a blind monkey cut my hair thanks!lol

Before I go I always feel a bit down and cant seem to get excited, I think its cos Ive looked forward to it for so long that Im worried it wont be as good as I remember, plus once you are actually there you know that you are on a countdown till its all over and then you have nothing left to look forward to!

Just get everything ready and Im sure the excitement will kick in! :cool1:

Well Jen, we're off tomorrow and I only got to grips with my packing today, we haven't got an itinerary except Christmas morning we're going to be in Epcot. I'm sure you'll get excited once you've finished work. Have a fab trip and a brilliant Christmas Jen :)

I dont get excited until I am on the plane.....I think when you are left to your own devices to pack etc its hard work!!.
THE EXCITEMENT WILL COME........PROMISE!!!

Have a wonderful holiday!! :sunny:

I always find the bit before a holiday stressful. I worry that I'll forget to pack something (like there are no shops there!) and worry until I am in my hotel that something will go wrong with the booking!

Add Christmas stuff and work to that and I can understand to a certain degree why you aren't too enthusiastic.

I hope the 'holiday feeling' kicks in soon

I'm the same too. I leave on the same flight as Em and I can't get excited either. I think that as we have been planning our trips for so long the fact that we leave in less than a week does not seem real to me. Also as there is so much going on at work at the moment with all the Christmas plays and parties I think once they are out of the way the trip will seem real.
I'm sure we will both be excited by 3pm on Tuesday when the last of the children have gone home. The trip will seem very real then.

I agree with everyone else! It's really bizarre. I am always INCREDIBLY excited about a trip months and weeks before it, but when it comes to the final few days beforehand I tend to get a bit down for some reason, perhaps I'm thinking it won't live up to my expectations?! Then as soon as I start travelling to wherever it is I'm going, I get really excited again! :hyper:

I was really excited for our holiday and it got to the point for a couple of weeks before I couldnt sleep. If I did sleep it would be for short periods. The excitement was unreal.

I am not all in the xmas spirit, my poor daughter is so excited so I have to be in front of her. All I keep thinking of as soon as its the new year I can book our florida holiday for October next year.

My dh doesnt normally get excited until he has finished work. He has to make sure all his work is up to date, as for me the ward will run whether I am there or not, but my poor dh has to make sure all his accounts is upto date, while he is away it shouldnt effect everyone else and close is all over done with.

I am sure once you finish work you will be excited. Its a matter of things settling down.

Have a great xmas and trip. Can I come LOL!!!

I feel exactly the same!!!

I really cannot be bothered at all. No cases down, no clothes sorted, hair appointment made as is the waxing session LOL

I haven't got any holiday money either LOL

We fly christmas day, at the moment staying in bed for 12 days is more inviting!

I honestly believe that we females do not have the pleasure of being so excited about our holiday compared to our DH/B and kids. This year to me it was more like a military operation than a joyful experience. We had moved into rented after selling our house with no room to swing a cat! The day before we went I had to book half a day to do the packing where normally it would have been done at least 2 days in advance. I had to sort out the travel money, insurance, packing, getting directions to the o/n hotel. All DH had to do was come home, change and then drive us to the airport hotel. Next time I am coming back as a man :rotfl:
If I was you I would book your hair in and finish work a bit early and start washing your clothes a few at a time so it doesn't feel so much of a chore.
I hope you have a wonderful time. ::MinnieMo

Dont worry Guys

Im sure as soon as you finish work, finish all your packing, put those cases on the plane, and sit back and relax, all the excitment will come at once. :goodvibes

Have a fantastic time. :Pinkbounc
