My DH's been using the same retort for years...

when they ask what that means he explains:

"Mouse Got my Money"

It's funny because he had to be converted when we married. Now he's the one who, when we were planning our vacations this year, insisted we sneak away for a short trip to WDW this summer before our annual October trip.

I recently had a customer.....a steelworker that I always assumed was a curmudgeon.....tell me that he is also a closet Disney junkie. He didn't start going to WDW until he was in his 50's when his wife drug him there on a family trip, now he can't get enough. He avoids talking about his love for the Magic openly because he works in a "manly" industry, but now that he knows that we share the sickness, he acts like a little kid when we talk.

And you mean to tell me these same people don't take the same vacation often? The people that rent a cottage at the beach every year, the people who go to the same campground every summer, the people who go to a Maine lake house every year??? It's the same thing.....

I get the "Disney again...must be nice to have that kind of money" all the time. I just tell them that we have a timeshare there that we have to use. Or if we get the "Disney again...doesn't that get old", I say that we love Florida and look for any reason to be there and that we hope to be snowbirds there someday. All true!

I completely agree with the way it makes you feel! WDW is our escape....I love everything about it. The landscaping, the cast members, the attention to detail, the restaurants..... everything!

That is so funny because my DH is a closet Disney junkie as well. He works for the telephone company therefore it is all men at his garage, the guys at work think that whenever my DH has vacation time, that means that his wife is "dragging" him to Disney again. However, it is actually the other way around....DH is dragging us to Disney (but of course I and the kids happily ablige ). He would never in a million years tell anyone that he loves Disney and really enjoys his vacations there, he doesn't want to get razzed by his coworkers because it is just not "macho like" to like Disney .

DW's favorite reply is "because we can!" For some reason that usually ends the conversation.

It is a vacation where everyone in our family is happy. It is magical and holds decades of memories for us. Where else can you go and stay that is safe, friendly, clean, fun, and happy? When we go there, we forget about all of our worries. For me that is the sign of a true vacation. I only want to stay on property because I don't want to leave the magic and deal with reality. Also, there is always something new to do.
