I often get the question "why are you going back to Disney AGAIN???!!!" My standard reply is that my family has never had a bad vacation there. What are your answers to that question. I'm sure we are not the only ones that get it. The question gets old....to this point Disney has not.

Because I want too. Because I get good customer service. Because it is fun. Just Because

We're Disney fanatics, is what we now say. Most people smile to that one and it's end of conversation or occasionally (rarely) someone will say me too.

At times I end up sounding like I work for Disney marketing. I will get on a rant about how clean it is, how wonderful the CM's are, how beautiful the landscaping is, how great the food is, how the price is worth it, how it's great for adults as least as much as it is for kids....etc....etc...

My sister used to ask me this all the time. She goes to Ft Myers every year at or after Christmas to the same place. They also own a condo in Lake of the Ozarks and go often. What makes this any different? Nobody asks them why they do what they do or the way they do it. :confused3

Of course, we go to Colorado every year and get the same questions.

I have a neighbor who got hooked on cruising some years back. I don't recall ever asking her why she went on 15 cruises in 4 years. I assumed she liked it.

A few reasons:

- ive never had a bad vacation there
- ive been there 10+ times and still havent done everything i want
- i can only get vacation time in the winter, so my choices are more limited. Florida is a perfect fit!

I usually answer back with "why do u go back to the beach each year? Or so u go somewhere different every single trip u go on?"

People in general don't get it but my close circle of friends are Disney people so not much of an issue and these are luckily people I work with.

It's all good though. Most people laugh and say we know its just who you are.

What's harder to explain is when people see our whole room of custom curios with all our Walt Disney classic collection pieces. That is deff a long explanation cause no one gets that one of not Disney "folk".

I always answer that I know that my whole family from age 3 to 44 will have a great time. It's too much money to go on a vacation and not know whether you will enjoy it.

My sister used to be like that. Why go back, why stay a week, why stay onsite, why get park hoppers (my MIL was like that as well ). Sooooo, we took the whole family 12 of us and stayed on site, DP, Park Hoppers. Now everyone sings the same song, when can we go back. Sister and MIL have made return trips with more booked.

Why go back, we still have not done it all.

We don't tell them LOL... I feel like everyone judges my vacations so we go on some and don't tell a soul. We take about 4 weeks a year so, I know it is more than the average family can afford so, I don't try and brag about it too much. We don't do all Disney either. So most of the time I don't say anything. I don't post pictures on facebook. Some times people don't get the magic but I do and love it. Wish we did more Disney vacations. Sometimes I get comments on how can you afford all these vacations. Generally, we budget for all our trips, use miles for flights, coupons for hotels and meals, etc... Also, we stay in a lot of timeshares so, we can eat in quite a few meals. Sometimes people want to eat out every meal when they vacation but we don't since we vacation more frequently. We rather vacation more and eat out less. But that is just us.

We have had this same basic issue, so a couple years ago we planned a trip with the biggest offenders, my family. By involving them in the process, they discovered that we don't spend as much money vacationing at Disney as they thought. In fact the most negative ones just did their own Disney family vacation using what they learned from us. We may have converted them! :)

As for our answer to why, we explain the my DH is a bit of a workaholic and Disney is the one place we know he can get away from it all and leave the job at home. Otherwise he is tempted to take meetings via phone and logs in on his computer to do e-mail and fix things for people. Face it, at Disney we are either too busy or too tired to work.

Because we can? :)

My current answer right now is "Disney has a lifespan. We'll go there until my kids outgrow it". My hope is that they won't. But, there's lots of time for Mexico, Europe, etc. Right now, I just want them to enjoy being kids, doing kids stuff -- and Disney provides all of those.

:) Because DH doesn't like to travel but I can get him to Disney, which he loves. Because there I get to ride a plane, train and boat, see Europe in a day, eat at signature restaurants, see famous celebrities on a daily basis ( I mean Mickey and Princesses are just everywhere). Because I get to see a giraffe walk by my balcony-I am actually transported to Africa.

My Mom and I where sitting on the bed during their first DVC trip with us last year. I said to her, as we looked out of the second story balcony to see the savanna and animals--"where on Earth could I do this for so little money". My parents and MIL are all so appreciative when we invite them to share in our adventures. Just got back with MIL and will take my parents next year. There will come a time when we will not be able to travel together and at Disney--Everyone gets to do SOMETHING they love.

When my parents ask my Wife and I this question, I'm always so tempted to reply, "Because my childhood sucked and now I'm overcompensating with my own daughter - thank you very much".

Our answers:
We always have a good time.
We can do as much or as little as we want.
There is something for everyone to do.
We go to our favorite restaurants for the food we like.

I know WDW is clean and well maintained.

With DVC, it is our second home.

I overhead DH answer this question for someone- He said, "Because we have pixie dust in our veins." I love that guy! :thumbsup2

To MaddysDaddy: yep!

I don't bother telling anyone where we're going anymore, that way the question doesn't come up.

If it were to come up though, I'd say:
"I love it, I walk about 8 miles a day there and feel great while taking in some beautiful resorts. Oh, and there are theme parks there too if we get bored."

If it's not a person with limited intelligence, I have said, "It's a little bit of my walk on part in the war". Usually they shut up either not understanding or knowing better than to question me much further.

I get the same response from others when I ask when THEY will go back to WDW with me.

They usually say, "Oh, there's alot of other places for me to see." Ugh...I hate that response!

I never have to justify why we go back again and again. We love it!

I am a male 56, I just tell them that I love the place.:thumbsup2
