Why are there reruns within a marathon?

FX is running a marathon of That 70's Show. It didn't start until 7:00 PM, and I believe it's supposed to go a few more hours. I love this show, but, unless I'm in a time warp, they're rerunning the episodes WITHIN the marathon!!

PEOPLE!! The show was on for TEN YEARS!! Surely you don't need to show me the Prom episode twice in three hours!! And the yearbook photo one wasn't even one of my more favorite ones!!

Is anyone else watching this?

I have noticed that sometomes too....the do it on USA for MONK marathons.

I feel like calling and saying "Do you want me to watch the whole thing or not????"

Yeah, I started watching Monk last summer during a marathon, and I remember getting all bothered by that too!! I had never seen the show before, loved it, and hated having to sit through reruns!!


The only consolation with this marathon is that one of my favorite episodes is on right now....

They did that to me with Laguna Beach. I was all "Dudes, I've already seen LC get jealous over Stephen and Kristin going to prom together!"

Maybe they enjoy torturing people that way

I suspect the reason is that they don't expect anyone to sit through the entire marathon. Remember, they're not broadcasting the marathon to help us make up our own DVDs of the show, so we don't have to go out and buy the DVDs in the store!
