Why are some people plain ole Mean and rude?

I absolutely do not agree with what Wynona said. I like all the Judd's but I agree that her comment was really unnecessary. It's too bad she felt the need to say that in public, she should have kept it to herself.

I'm not sure Wynonn (Who should keep her comments to herself) meant that TAylor didn't deserve it...sounded like she said it was happening too soon in her career. When you reach the top , where do you go?

My answer? Higher! Break that ceiling and keep going up.

"Too much too soon" is not "she sucks and didn't deserve it."

Sounded to me like she's (rightfully) concerned for the girl's mental health. She knows first hand what it's like to be famous at that age, and I'm sure she wishes she had been older when it happened.

19 is YOUNG. Heck, 23-24 is young, but at that age most artists have either been to college or been touring with their bands for a few years. Swift went from high school to #1 in the charts and all these awards without anything in between.

I think Wynona was just saying it might be one of those things that isn't good for her in the long run -- nothing more.

Well, USA Today must have asked Wynonna her opinion, and it sounds like she gave an honest one. She gave an opinion. Everyone has one. She has just as much of a right to offer it, when asked, just as anyone else does.

Personally, I agree with Wynonna. It's too soon for her to be getting the Entertainer of the Year award. Taylor herself said, in her acceptance speech, that everything she has ever wanted has happened now. Okay. What else is there then? I think it should have been a few years from now before she won the award. She hasn't "paid her dues", like they say.

'Course I wanted Brad Paisley to win. :D

I don't think Wynonna was being mean for the sake of meanness. She was asked in an interview for her opinion. It wasn't like she was outside the venue spouting off to TMZ's cameras.

And she really didn't say anything insulting to Taylor. She said she thought it was 'too much too soon.' All these awards and fame, can be really tough on young people. Look at nearly all the other teen stars. The music business is tough.

And actually, a lot of country artists still do the radio station tour thing. Trent Wilmon did it a few years ago pulling a BBQ smoker behind his pickup. Dierks Bentley did it too. While not exclusively this way, country music formats are still less top down than pop (CHR based) formats.

so Wynona is concerned for Taylors mental health? :rotfl: Did some thing happen to question Taylors stability? except for her being happy at winning?
While we're at it did some thing happen to Taylors parents, managers, siblings or the countless other people who are actually in Taylors life so that she no longer has the support system?

Many people win oscars, grammys, NBA championships etc, etc their first time up to bat. I didn't know there was a prescribed time table to success. Bill Gates was about 21 wasn't he when he founded Microsoft. Lebron James went into the NBA immediately after H.S., was selected as the number 1 draft pick at only 18 and has been a force in the NBA ever since and picking up a bronze at the Olympics. Should he have waited until he "paid his dues"?

If you work hard and have the drive and the determination, I don't care if you're 16 or 66, I say go for it.

I agree - it appears that Wynonna didn't just spout off......... she was asked and gave her honest opinion. Which, personally, I agree with. To each his own.

The PROBLEM I have from last night is actually the CONTINUATION of the lets BASH Kanye theme......... OK we get it, we all know he's an idiot and what he did was shameful - no argument from me. However, I'm not finding the constant bashing cool......... Taylor "sang" about it on her SNL skit, and then last night it was brought up AGAIN more than once........... OK we get it, he's a jerk, we ALL KNOW THIS, but, come on, move on, let it go already. I just don't think it's OK or right for her or her "allies" to continue to bring it up and bash him. If you wanna be classy, let it go already - since Taylor herself has said it's over and it's all good between them. She shouldn't agree to continue it. I just feel like everyone see's her as this little sweet girl who got beat up.......... ( and I agree - she didn't deserve at all what he did to her) but that doesn't give all the "seemingly - do gooders" the right to constantly bring it up or bash him in the name of "defending her" or putting him in his place................. that just seems to me, to be HYPOCRISY at it's finest!!!!

"Wynonna- what do you think of Taylor's entertainer of the year award?"

"I wish her all the best- she's a very talented young lady and I look forward to many more years of her work."

how about something like that instead of "too much too soon" ??

I still say Judd is jealous of the attention and success that Taylor has had writing and singing her own music.

I'm personally not a fan of Taylor Swift. I just don't think she can sing but of course YMMV.

However I would never say what Wynnona did because it's not her (or my) decision to make. Just let the girl enjoy her award and who knows? Maybe my favorite will win someday. ;)

This...we need more of this. WHY would anyone even CARE what Wynonna thinks about anyone's win?

Don't worry about Kanye- he can take care of himself.

I'm NOT EVEN CLOSE to being worried about Kanye................. :confused3

Personally, I can't stand the guy. I thought I had made my point clear in my post?? I don't care if it's Kanye or the man in the moon.......... I don't like the mentality that it's OK to do that to anyone............. AND AGAIN, to clarify, what he did to her is NOT OK either - not saying that or implying that at all.

I agree with this, although I've never liked Wynona's attitude (I like Naomi and I love Wynona's voice, just not her attitude.)

.

Wynona herself was a superstar before she became an adult, and obviously has regrets about that. She has said that she herself got too much too soon, so yes, I think this was spoken out of "be careful what you wish for" - not a blast at the girl's talent or jealousy.

Would have been nice to say something bland that particular night, of course.

I'm sure Kanye is FINE with what went on at the CMA's last night.... because it means people are thinking about him.... you didn't like it..... but I bet he did. That's why he jumped the stage in the first place... to make it about HIM.

I think I remember Wynonna having some mental health issues in the past.... but that doesn't mean Taylor will. She should have kept her opinion to herself... although, now we are talking about her. Truthfully I had forgotten she existed. If it wasn't for her cover of Burning Love in Lilo and Stitch.... I might have never remembered her. LOL

What Kanye did was spectacularly bad. Jokeing about it a couple times is not even in the same galaxy. It does not approach hypocrisy.

I just RE-READ my post and I just don't get it................. :confused3

Why is my point being missed???? I thought I explained it well enough?

Again, YES YES YES and YES again, what Kanye did was "spectacularly" BAD - WE ALL AGREE - however, how long and how many times does he or the incident need to be brought up?? How many times does he need to ridiculed by her or her "defenders" ? I mean the other OP is probably exactly right, he was probably thrilled his name was mentioned.........

I think it should be OVER already - why keep it going?

And the synic in me wonders if "the incident" had anything to do with her winning????? Just a thought............. ;)

It is another knock at Taylor. To me it was unnecessary. Even when asked, what difference does Wynona's opinion make? None. Taylor still got the award. It made Wynona look small to me. She could've said, Taylor had a great year. And left it at that.

Well, I agree with you on all points..................... however, she was ASKED for her opinion - and she has the right to give it. I don't think she was being mean spirited though.......... I think the media want all of us to believe that - controversy SELLS!!!

It was too good to pass up. In your opinion they made too many jokes about it. Obviously the writers didn't think so and the crowd as a whole didn't think so. They weren't being "Mean" or making fun of some innocent mistake- he brought it all on himself. I am not missing your point- I disagree with you.

I believe SNL is the only time she has made a joke of it publicly- there is no way the writers could possibly pass on the opportunity to use it- just like they mentioned Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner....

I'm sure the cynic in you is wrong- she got the award because she writes and sings her own music and she sells out GINORMOUS venues in minutes and a majority of the votes were for her.

They could have asked for her opinion but she didn't have to give it. She could have been gracious.
