Why are husbands such Disney haters?

Mine has got to be the grumpiest pants i've ever seen. But yet when he was there he had a blast. URGGG! I LOVE Disney! So i'm leaving on a plane in 2 hours with the grown up kids.

Maybe he's being pouty because you're leaving and he secretly doesn't want to admit that he really wants to go too!! Sometimes my DH gets all "butt-hurt" if I do something without him!!

HUH? My hubby love everything about our trips to DL. He really gets into it by making countdown calendars and one of the last times he made a trivia contest for all of the adults who were going. Heres wishing your hubby makes a turnaround.

For my dh it's purely a "Disneyland = too much money missing from our bank account" thing. He loves it while we're there, but can't stand that it costs money.

I just showed this post to my DH, and He said, I don't hate Disney!

We Love to go and have yummy dinners and share drinks in DTD. Riding Soarin' and exploring the parks are special for the two of us to share together.

Going to Disneyland is a Special Date for us.

Maybe if you change your approach that you all take. If you rush through trying to do everything on your list.. take a more laid back approach and relax there. Do things you never do, stop and have a mixed drink and some yummy appetizers at Ralph Brennahs. Hold Hands and steal a kiss now and then. Enjoy each other.

Good Point DangerMouse!

I learned that the expenses and my DH having to open up his wallet everytime we turned around at Disneyland wasn't relaxing to him. So i started a savings account just for our Disneyland trips and always keep it going. We sometimes drive and sometimes fly if we have free tickets.

This savings plan for year round vacations has helped him relax and enjoy the trips.

I am sure he loves it WAY more then he is letting on.... My brother does this. He thinks hes too matcho for his own good, and in his words "touristy froo froo parks wont catch him and suck him in". Although when we talk about DL he has to JUMP right in and put in his 2 bits, or when we start planning another trip back he goes "hmmm" well maybe i'll come down for a few days if im not busy.... Then he comes for the full trip anyway.

You should see him clapping and bobbing his head to the highschool musical float in DCA. He swears he doesnt do this, but I got video... I got Video! AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

As one of the guys on DIS, I have to say that we aren't all like that. As a matter of fact, I'm probably the most excited member of my family for our trip next month.

He has told me once that for all the money we spent in DL one year, we could have taken the family to Hawaii. Hawaii? Who'd want to go to Hawaii when you could go to DL! He doesn't get me at all.

In our house it's the opposite, we are having one last family holiday (DD is 18 this year and will soon be leaving the nest) and my wife was the one who didn't want to go Disney again. In the end I had to bribe her with a stopover in Fiji on our way back...

I doubt I would go without kids, for me the attraction is the family fun and the memories are priceless.

My dh isn't a Disneyfan either. He is staying again and I am taking the two boys tomorrow with my parents and my neice. I love Disney! And he can't stand crowds..

My husband doesn't hate Disney either. In fact he really loves it and is bad like I am...we keep planning trip after trip and it's like some sort of addiction. But oh well...it makes us happy! But if I were to leave and go there without him he'd pout for a lifetime. I would never go without him though.

DH and I had a converstion about Hawaii vs DLR when we were planning where to go for our 20th anniversary. It was my idea to go to DLR, but I wanted to make sure he really wanted to and I asked if he would rather go to Hawaii. He reacted quite firmly that he much preferred to go to DLR.

I'm obsessed with Disneyland and could talk and read about it all day long. He isn't obsessed but he likes going.

I guess I am lucky - my husband is as much of a fan as I am. He doesn't have the TIME to devote to boards such as the DIS like I do, but he still will always talk, dream, and plan with me.

OP I hope you have a great "grown up kids" trip. Here's hoping your DH will start to become obsessed as well.

It is a different experience for sure without the kids but not a bad one, just different. I have in the back of my head going back to WDW with just my DW for an adults only trip (Have only been to WDW without kids). Kinda look at it as a really long date with tons of dining options and a way to have some fun time, just the two of us.

I give any man kudos for admitting that he loves Disneyland or WDW. I mean come on! Who doesnt want to be happy? Who doesnt want to be a big kid? There is something for everyone to enjoy. Its not just a theme park with mascots and rides. Its mentally stimulating on all levels. The parks make you feel like your the only person in the park who matters. The park appears to cater to everyone individually. Its so cool.

YAY! I'm not afraid to admit that I love all things Disney (except things like Hannah Montana and whatever).

I was talking to my friends about this. I don't have a DW yet, but when I do, it'll be the other way around with how it is here. I'll be the one begging her we need to go to DLR.

Everytime I see one of you saying that your DH is so reluctant to go to DL, I'm like "what the heck, men should love DL".

My Bf sees Disney as something I have a passion for and there for goes along for the ride, hes not a big fan but never knocks my enthusiasm. hes great for trips because he doesn't mind holding a place for fireworks and parades while the rest ride something and he LOVES Disney food. He also sees Disney as a good park for him because what lil big rides there are he can ride almost all with his motion sickness problem (accepting Soarin, Star tours (which sucks because hes a big star wars fan) Screamin and Tower of terror) hes my future DH, he even agreed to a DLR honey moon so there not all bad.
