Just curious as to why there are already so many resales on the timeshare stores site. Every once and a while I look for a good deal here but was shocked to see so many akv's for sale. The resort isnt even done being built yet, what gives. Dont say its the economy cause i had noticed the same of saratoga way back when. just after it was built there would be a ton for resale aready.
Buyers remorse?
People cant make up their mind?
Dont people go through the hassle of decisions, closing with contract signings, etc for the ownership. This is a bit painstaking to do and then to all of the sudden say, oops , I dont want it anymore.
I understand some can be foreclosures too, maybe.

I think it's a little bit of all of the above. I also find that in residental real estate. When I moved into my development years ago, I was astounded by the number of people who within 3 months decided to move again.
Unfortunately I do think the economy is a major factor in this too, it's a lot different than when SSR first opened.

With SSR you saw a lot of people who added on, used the developer points then tried to resale and "break even" thus getting the DP for free. SSR has resales up even before the resort opened at all.

You have to put things in perspective. Even at AKV, there are something like 15,000 owners. 46 (about 0.3%) of them are up for sale at TSS.

Things happen. People lose jobs, get divorced, get pregnent, discover they Love Vegas, or simply change their minds.

I'm always surprised by the people who live beyond their means, charging everything including something as frivolous as their dvc points. They have nothing in terms of emergency cash, then one or both of them lose their jobs, their mortgage adjusts upward, or the car needs a new transmission and it all comes tumbling down.

No doubt some of those resales are contracts bought by people who really couldn't afford it in the first place. That's good news for people looking to buy, as you can save some money vs buying from Disney. Just be sure YOU can afford it - and being able to pay for it without financing is a good first step!
