Why AKL and WL

I'm part of the whole CBR closing mess so I've been reading all of the posts. Although I'm not normally a patient person, I've decided to wait until Disney calls me. I don't want CS, but I guess I'd be happy with either of the other moderate resorts. I've talked to my husband and mentioned that we might be able to upgrade for a reasonable amount. From the other posts, it seems that the offers for upgrades are usually either AKL or WL - why is that??

My 5 year old daughter would freak at the AKL. She screams if she sees an ant - I wouldn't even want to see her reaction to a wild animal roaming around. I'm not sure about WL. Just curious why those two resorts are usually offered.

I can't answer your question why, but I can say we stayed at VWL last summer and loved the whole WL thing. It's very restful.

The only reason I can think of is that WL and AKL are the lowest priced deluxe resorts. Therefore, their rates are closer to the moderate rates than the other deluxe resorts.

The WL is a fantastic resort, BTW. Grab it if Disney offers it to you.

We were there in June, and I have to admit that the transportation left something to be desired, but other than that, we loved the place.

We just returned from the AKL last week and LOVED this resort; the animals are in savannahs not right near the rooms and are so gentle and quiet; we found them lovely to look at. The resort well...what can I say but WOW! It's brand new and just gorgeous with an awesome pool and two jacuzzis. The cast members are awesome and spend extra time explaining things to little ones. We also stayed at the WL a couple of years ago and liked this resort very much too; it was designed by the same architecht as the AKL and somewhat resembles it. Both are awesome and offer bunk beds which kids generally love. Good luck with your choice; if a good offer comes along, grab it.
