Dh and I were wondering how easy it is to get milkshakes and smoothies to count as our "non-alcoholic" beverage on the dining plan. The plan brochure doesn't exclude them, so we are hoping it will work out. I love love love smoothies! Anyone try this??

Sci Fi allows shakes on the DDP as does WCC at Wilderness Lodge - and that one is refillable. I think I've heard that Prime Time Cafe also offeres shakes on the DDP. I can't remember any others that allowed shakes. Some may offer the "specialty drinks" but no refills. DD13 got something other than water or soda at Coral Reef but no refill.

Le Cellier allowed smoothies, The Wave allowed shakes (no refills on thesee though; but you do get refills on sodas, coffee & tea.)

I heard about WCC at Wilderness Lodge & Le Cellier... I'd be interested (or more specifically dh would be interested) in finding out where else milkshakes and smoothies would be available as the drink on the DDP.

Good idea for a thread! :thumbsup2

i HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM AT ANY OF THE RESTURATNS THAT HAVE MILKSHAKES. i THINK i HAVE HAD THEM AT LE cELLIAR, SCI FI, 50'S prime time, WCC, Turf Club. I have also gotten smotheis at Chef Mickeys before.

WOW! You can get free refills on milkshakes at WCC? That's exciting to know!

Yes but the new pants you have to buy- when your old ones don't fit after 10,000 calories a day for a week- aren't free. :lmao:

to the op: You can get smoothies as a snack too! There is a place (I don't remember the name but I know right where it is, lol) in DHS that has at least 6 flavors available. There's another place in MK. (and don't miss the Dole Whip floats there at Aloha Isle)

Yes, there are some at Coral Reef as well.

We also got smoothies as beverages at the Pepper Market at CSR, for our CS meal.

I personally cringe at the thought of including a milkshake or smoothie in connection with a full meal...but it's good to know that they are allowed as a snack credit..
Call me a calorie nazi, but I just cannot allow myself or my kids to consume that much in one meal...especially because all the meals on the DDP already include a dessert..
Thanks for the info though!

We were on the deluxe dining plan last May and I know that lots of places offered them to our kids (2 were adults on the plan). I can't really remember which places, as my kids turned them down most times and just got soda.

We were on the basic plan last August and the kids that I had were asked everytime what they wanted to drink..and if my memory serves me correctly, anything they asked for they got for beverages..and let me just say..they were so excited
