For us it will be both our first MNSSHP and trip "home" to our DVC resort!

Count me in on the people watching all the websites for October dates to show up. . .

No dates final yet, but WE ARE GOING - probably sometime around the last 2 weeks of October. I know we want to try and be there for Halloween. That'll be a first for us, so we are looking forward to it very much. I still have 2 trips before that to get thru first.

Here are my thoughts. MNSSHP is a lot of fun. People dress up and go trick or treating through the MK. THey have special fireworks and a neat parade and most all of the rides are open too. They sell a limited number of tickets for the parties and the lines have had little to no wait in my experience.

Now we don't know the exact dates yet (Touring plans has down that Sun Oct 1st is the 1st party, but there is nothing offical from Disney), but for the past two years I have done the first Sunday party and this year I also did the first party (which was on a Friday). Stick to a date that FL school children will not have the next day off. Also I do remember reading reports from people who went to the party on the Thursday and Friday parties who said they were more busy than they thought.

Also know that crowds will start to increase some the closer one gets to Columbus Day weekend. The past two years I have noticed an increase in crowds (not talking major crowds, but don't expect to walk on everything with next to no or minimal waits as the day goes on). It seems that a lot of schools have a fall break at this time period or are off for Columbus day. I know in MN are fall break is right in the middle of October. Not to mention the Food and Wine Festival also starts on Sept 29th. I would say that the october crowds are more average I would say on a scale of 1-10 I would personally give them a 5-7 rating depending on the week you are there.

I think the time period at the end of Sept/early Oct is a great time to go that is why I go then...you get to do MNSSHP before it gets crowded, you can still enjoy hot weather (it is very hot and humid this time of year), not to mention the Food and Wine Festival is during this time. I think all you need is a good plan and you will have a fabulous trip

We'll be there from Oct 21-26. My dd's 13th b-day, and we're traveling with another mom and her dd who turns 13 the day after we get home. We'll be at BWV....can't wait to get there!!

This is our favorite time of year to go. We did a short 3 day trip over Christmas this year in addition to our Oct. trip, and while the decor was beautiful, we missed being able to use the pool. We hit some very chilly weather, and walking around all bundled up just didn't feel right. Besides, between MNSSHP and the W&F festival, there's so much to see and do.

Yes! We will be there again. Almost the same dates as last year, Oct. 28 through Nov. 5th. MNSSHP on the 29th, and staying at the BCV.

We are going on our first trip "home" to SSR Oct. 18- 22, but at my 7 month window I will be trying to switch to either BWV or BCV. We usually go in Dec. for MVMCP, but decided to try something new this year.

We are going October 1-11th, staying at the BCV. Not sure what day we are doing the NSSHP, but we are doing it (did it last year). DH is running in the 10K on the 8th.

Wow...thanks for doing that list. It's awesome. We've really got to plan some sort of meet!

How accurate are the dates for MNSSHP on touringplans.com? It's very difficult to plan an itinerary this far out with no park hours or dates for the party! On previous trips, I've at least known which days of the week each park was having morning EMH, but now that they do it in the evening too, it varies!
