Who's booking for NYE 2010? Post your experiences here please!

I am amazed at the amount of availability for New Year's Eve at a few of the 'harder to get' resorts. This is good.

I agree... I thought it might have been difficult to get a BCV studio, but it wasn't at all!

But I am glad I didn't have to book a THV this year, I have a feeling I would have been disappointed.

We had success as well. DBIL had booked DEC 26 for 3 nights 2BR at BCV. But did not have enough points for the other 2 (we had gotten BLT for us), so they now had to hold thier breath until yesterday for VWL points.

Called at 9AM Central (yesterday) and got 2 nights 2BR Ded at VWL, Dec 29 and 30. So it worked out great.

I just added on another night at BLT. We got a Studio LV from 12/30/10 thru 01/08/11. I called right at 8:00am (central time) and got right through.
I can't wait!!!

I called right at 9am on the 29th and tried to get a BLT 2BR lockoff Std view for 29 Dec -3 Jan for 5 nights, but they were sold out of that view for a couple of the nights.

I could get a 2 BR lockoff LV 29 Dec- 2Jan (with the point difference I could only get 4 nights), so I booked that.

I took another look at the points and discovered if we shifted our arrival date by one night (with the LV) we could stay 5 nights instead of 4. So, I called back at 4:30pm 30 Jan to see if they could change our ressie to a 2BR dedicated LV for 30 Dec-4 Jan for 5 nights. This was no problem. I then set up a WL for the 2BR std view lockoff for the same nights. If the WL comes through we will save 25 points, but I am thinking about cancelling the WL for the STD view because we haven't tried the LV, yet....

We'll be at BLT from December 18-January 1. Planning on being at MK for the midnight fireworks on the 30th, and then ringing in 2011 at the Top of the World Lounge at BLT. Soooooooo excited!

We stayed at THV NYE 2009 but spent it on the Boardwalk. What a great festive atmosphere!! Fireworks were awesome and we did not have to camp out for a spot, anywhere around the lake was fine! The DJ on the lawn was pretty good and gave everyone a good workout (it was cold!!) with all the line dances

I guess I am in the minority here. Most of you are going to WDW. I booked at the VGC for NYE. I set my alarm on my phone to call on the 11 month mark right when MS opened. Well the battery on my cell died over night and my phone turned off and I didn't know it. So my alarm didn't go off. I am in CA by the time I realized I had forgotten, MS had been open for 5 hours. I was worried because the resort is so small. But I called and got my studio for NYE for 1 night.

I was shocked to be able to book BWV at the 11 month mark. I always travel 12/26-1/1, and was nervous about booking this. Got exactly what I wanted (12/26-1/1, 1BR BWV view) at 9AM on 1/26.

How are things in Sewell NJ right now?

We didn't have enough points for BWView this year. It was a last minute thing for me to invite the family...the next time I'll be saving more BWV points so we can enjoy the BWView too.
