Who's booking for NYE 2010? Post your experiences here please!

Just curious how the NYE bookings are going.

Last week I called to check THV December availability and they were filling within 5 minutes of 9am opening.

I didnt try for THV but was able to get our AKV Concierge studio reservation

I doubt I had to fight for that one as much considering many prefer to be within walking distance to a park or am I wrong?

I know the phones were a little busy this morning trying to add on the 31st and my call dropped twice!!

Got my BLT MKV for Dec 25 to Jan 1. Will add on a few days for the next few days.

Wish me luck since I will be calling on Friday to try for THV on the 29 and 30 of Dec. I couldn't tell if OP ment the THV were filled or filling up for those days. At least I know I'll get SSR for the dates I need.

Just finished my booking this morning. Booked 9 nights total from Dec. 23-Jan. 1 at AKV value studio. I had to call 3 mornings in a row (1st call booked first 7 nights and then called 2 more days in a row to book the additional 2).

I was thrilled that we are doing a Christmas/New Year's stay for 9 nights for 153 points!

Just finished my booking this morning. Booked 9 nights total from Dec. 23-Jan. 1 at AKV value studio. I had to call 3 mornings in a row (1st call booked first 7 nights and then called 2 more days in a row to book the additional 2).

I was thrilled that we are doing a Christmas/New Year's stay for 9 nights for 153 points!

We will be there with you. I called yesterday and booked Dec. 24-Dec. 31 and then called today to add Dec. 31. I booked one AKV Value studio, she said it was the last one, and one standard studio. I am also waitlisted for a Value AKV 2 bedroom. They did not have all of my dates and I don't want to move with family, so we will see. I had a hard time getting through this morning, it would just hang up randomly. Once I did get through, the CM said the computer was having some problems.

No, your call will not go into MS unless it is 9:00. You will receive a recording stating office hours if you are 1 second too early.

Bobbi, you and I seem to be on the same schedule, July 4th and now the week after Christmas but leaving 12/30. Would have stayed the 31st but DW's hopsital schedule may require her to work Jan 1 and she hates to fly back the day before she has to work. Also did not want to borrow for that night since we lose the points if I cancel, being the last night of the year.. We are at BCV both times. Getting lot of responses to my question about what to see. Candlelight Processional is at the top of the list, then sleigh ride, then Osborne lights then Resort decorations. Who has time for the parks??

PS: BCV was wide open for Christmas week per MS. Now if we can just find a cheap plane ride.

And you have hi odds of getting a Savannah View so even better

This will be our 6th year going over the holidays and NYE is always the hardest to book and most nerve wrecking for me, so Im glad it's over!.

I did read about your December stay and it just didn't register that you were looking at dates that we would be there too! It's good to know that BCV was "Free" that would have been the "back up" resort for our NYE stay but then our family couldn't be with us, didn't have enough points even to borrow for anything larger than a studio there.

DDiL is a nurse, and for the longest time couldn't take off at all in December. They are hoping, praying that they will be moved to Florida by the time December rolls around. I know you live in CT. they live near Boston, and the winters there have gotten to them. They are looking for a change.

Booked AKV-Kidani 12/26 to 1/1.
Called on the Jan 26th (11 month window) to try for a value 1 br but Dec 26 was booked so got standard view at Kidani instead-- but then found out that value 1br only allow 4 guests so we we couldn't stay there away-haha-- so it all worked out right in the end.

Just called to book two nights starting 12/30. Was hoping to get a studio with BLT MK view, but only the 31st was available. Ended up going with LV and wait listing MK view.

Called right at 8:00am (central time) and got right through!

Just booked Dec. 30th- Jan 3rd at BCV studio!

But I'm thinking of changing to 31st to 5th... I could add one extra day and use up all of my year's points (with banked from previous year) by moving some of my stay to January...

And I'm also considering waitlisting for MK view when the 7 month window opens up (but only if I don't have to move).

Hmm... is seeing the 30th practise fireworks at MK worth a full day extra at Beach Club in January? I wonder if it will be as cold as this year...

I thought those December 30th MK fireworks were spectacular. We stayed at the BWV in 2008. On the 30th we went to the last Candlelight Processional in Epcot, and took the monorail to the MK. No problem getting in to MK. They were having lots of practice NYE parties, like Lady Tremaine and the sisters in Fantasyland. After the wonderful fireworks, the MK was open for extended hours, but DH and I were exhausted. Most people stayed for the extended hours, we had no problems getting to BWV, and were back in our room before 12:45 AM. Yes, I think being there on the 30th is worth it...and I sure hope it isn't as cold next year, but we're going!!!!

I too booked a Value Studio December 20th - January 1st. As I was adding on days getting closer to NYE I was afraid of the values being unavailable. As AKV continues to sell the values will be harder to get as the number of value rooms in inventory won't be increasing.

I booked a 2 bedroom dedicated and a studio at VWL with no walking from December 28th through January 3rd!!! Love the lodge at that time of year.

I called this morning right at 8:00 am (central time) and got right through. I booked a trip for my wife and I starting on 12/30/10 thru 01/06/11 at BLT studio with a lake view (standards were all gone). Very happy with my experience for my first time calling. Th Cast member I talked to was very nice.

My AKV Concierge Studio already came thru for Jan 1st!

We (ok Dh) dont like to move so our entire stay is at AKV Concierge.
