...or around this age?

We going in Oct, and my son will be 27 months old. Just wondering who's already experienced disney with a tot this age?? If so, anything you say is a must!!?! As I dont want to miss out on anything! Any hints or tips you wanna share?!

How were they on the rides?? Im so excited!! xx

We 1st took our DD when she was 23 months. At this age she loved all the characters but when she went again when she was older age 3 and 4 she was terrified of them. She went on every ride that she could and she loved most of them. There are a few that are dark which she was a bit frightened of but she just cuddled in and she was ok
As for you not missing out on any rides most of the big rides with height restrictions you will be able to do child swap. This is when you all go to the cm at the entrance to the ride and tell him you will do child swap. They will then give you a pass. Someone then stays with baby whike the others queue and then after the ride you and upto 3 others are able to present this pass to be allowed to go down the fast pass queue.

Its very difficult to answer your question as every child is different my ds was slightly older whenwe took him to wdw (29 months) and he adord the characters and Buzz lightyear spin !! He slept in the afternoon which made that an ideal time for us to do the parent swap on the rides we wantd to do !!
He also adored thr red fish ride at universal and the lunch at crystal palace had him totally blown away !
I have to say he is a bit of a dare devil and I cant actually remember him being scared of anything but as I say thats not always the case !!
You will have bags of fun with him anyway - the water fountains were an endless source of amusement for ds and a fab picture everytime !!

Just remebered something he hated - the water parks and pool he point blank refused to get in to the water !! Bless him

i took my identical twin sons at 24months. they had a great time! only downer was one loved mickey the other was terrified! go figure:confused3 we managed fine and also had a 4year old. they slept in the afternoon which meant we could do child swap with no hassle. oh yeah they loved the water jets!!! take a change of clothes.

My DS was about 18 months old the first time we took him and loved it - still does at 4y/old. I have to say by the end of the last 3 holidays we were sick of the sight of Fantasyland, hense we are giving WDW a miss this time and only doing Universal. Everything in Fantasyland they will prob like, unless they don't like dressed up characters. Don't forget the water park at the back of Fantasyland so take a spare lot of clothes. We went on Star Wars aswell and they do the ride without moving for kids so don't miss it out. The only thing my DS didn't like was the ones with 3D glasses, too much with things coming straight at him.

hey, thanks for the responses!!! I understand that each child is different!

Also, how did they find the flight/flying?? As its 9 hrs and not sure how DS will be!! First time he'd have flown! ANy tips on that front?! Thanks xx

plenty coloring in books etc..make him up a little backpack full of things to do...see if you can pick up the triangular shaped crayons, they dont roll off the tray ...saves you scrambling about the floor. Also i would bring a blanket..it can get cold on those flghts incase he takes a little nap..plenty snacks too..my little boy thought it was great he got a picnic on the plane. Im scottish and live in houston and fly back and fro alot and my kids love it!!!
Under the family thread on this board are cool downloadable disney things to color and do..pic of mickey to color etc. Have a nice trip.xx:flower3:

We took our DD 1st time when she was 27 months and this time she was 3 years and three months. The 1st time she really loved the characters and the interaction. Wasn't interested in the pool, as liked to have her feet on the floor so would only paddle - on th other hand though she liked the water parks. Our DS was just coming up to 2 while were were away this year and he loved everything.

There were lots of things that both of them can go on, Epcot was great for the kids, The Nemo Ride and Turtle Talk with Crush are a must for them. They also enjoyed Figment, Norway and Mexico's rides in the WS, The Land - loads to do there for them, plus the water jets and light up floor!

On the plane we found play doh to be a saviour! They played with it for at least 2 hours, stickers too - loved those. DS also sat and watched Toy Story twice - he didn't have the sound on though just the picture, he wouldn't keep the headphones in! LOL!

I hope that you have agreat time! Let me know if I can answer any further questions. I don't want to bore you......................

Wow thanks for that T16Gem!! Will deffo jot down what you've put there. Im so excited I cant wait!!!! Still got a while to go yet though! Your not biring me at all!!! I need as many tips/advs as I can get!! Gets me all excited reading about it! xx

My DS fell asleep straight away on the plane when he was younger - for not longer than 1 1/2 hours mind. then he walked up and down the plane with one of us for quite a while, but it gets you talking to loads of people. i used to go to woolys and Tesco ,shops like that to get a few small things to keep him occupied and get one out at a time every couple of hours or so. a couple of magazines out of whsmith at the airport keep him occupied for a while aswell. sticker books anything like that. Just see what is around I would say thats not too bulky to take in hand luggage.

Hi we are just back 11days ago with our DS 27mths he was ace on the flights we had to fly to gatwick first then Orlando the child was born to fly (wait till you see that will come back & haunt me as next time he will be nightmare)we took loads & loads of stickers & decorated the plane with them although did tidy up before landing, colouring book & crayons,DVD player ace when they are getting tired, along with favourite toy & blanket we also took bag of fruit & snacks as plane food was big no no for him & me, took his own juice on plane just had to taste at airport no problems. Took little toy mobile phone, camera & binoculors all kept him amused also took calpol & gave him it 1/2 hr before landing no problems with ears he rubbed them few times but generally just fine.
Only ride he was not to keen on was Pirates of the caribean but just cuddled in,loved buzz's space ranger spin & at Univesal Islands of adventure loved the liitle train that goes round in Suess land sorry don't know what it is called but he loved having a seat all to himself.
Last but not least just enjoy it go at your own pace let him sleep when he needs to do not be scared in resturants to ask for things we found them to be very good, want jelly sandwhich no peanut butter no problem, salad with just carrot & tomato, friut salad with grapes only !!! I know we have a very fussy eater that will not eat chicken nuggets or pizza so we have to ask for things all the time but never once had problem !
