Ok ya'll, I need some of that DIS genious. I'll try to keep this as short as possible. :p

My best friend and I are taking a trip the week after Turkey Day,,,his birthday falls on 11/28, and for his b-day I thought I'd take him to the California Grill. He loves good meat and good wine, and I really thought it would be cool to end the night with fireworks, as a suprise. (he's never been to WDW before).

Well, silly me, didn't even think Wishes isn't shown every nite on the off season, and so on 11/28 there is no Wishes!!

So, I was thinking, maybe we could celebrate his b-day the day before, on 11/27, as the MK closes late with wishes. Yet, I feel like it won't be the same/won't be as special :p

We also really want to try Ohana, and I think he would also like the Yachtsman Steakhouse (with maybe a glimpse of illuminations afterword on the BW) Food-wise, I think he would like these better than the CG.

So the question is, should we do CG the day before, or should we go with Ohana or the Yachtsman??

I guess this is a good dilema hmm?:p :Pinkbounc

I thought they were showing Wishes every night. I know they had Wishes every night back in February and that's about as off season as you can get. Unless they've changed that and I haven't heard and as much time as I spend on the DIS, you'd think I would know this.

Sometimes, they don't show all the parades/fireworks show time until closer to time to leave. I wouldn't discount not being able to see Wishes on the night you want from the California Grill.

I am not 100% sure, but I think that there are fireworks at MVMCP...anyway...I would go with Ohana... as I always say...Can't beat all you can eat!!!:hyper:

I can't help you with the restaurant part, :D but if there is a MVMCP that night, then there should be fireworks. In fact, when we were there this last Dec., the "special" showing of Wishes that night was AWESOME. It was better than a regular night...we were back at MK 2-3 days after our MVMCP with some friends, and I kept saying, wait until the end when they, blah, blah, blah...but it never happened. LOL It was special for MVMCP. Just my .02

Ive never been to CG, but I have to say YSH and Ohana are 2 of our favorites. I think either of those would be a great choice to celebrate.

I'm probably in the minority, but we prefer the CG when there isn't Wishes scheduled. We only make a PS for nights without Wishes. For the price you are paying for the meal, it's a nicer atmosphere when there is less confusion and when people aren't waiting around for window seats, etc.

But now that they have changed the checkin procedures and such, maybe things are a little calmer up there on Wishes nights.

I'd do California Grill on that Saturday night.

Also, check MVMCP schedule. Wishes is shown on the nights of the party around 9-9:15pm.

MVMCP is that night. We have tickets. Haven't been to one yet so I don't know about the fireworks. However, from what I've read it does seem like they will have them. Hope this helps.

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was a MVMCP nite! HHmm!! Thanx for your help everyone :earsboy:
