WHOOOOOOP!!!! I just found out that Disney has passed on ROFR and we're now really DVCer's. Our e-mail said that closing is set for 2/17 (wish we could move that up!!!) and then we're set! I can't wait to start booking our reservations!

Thank you to everyone on this board that has been SOOOO informative. Y'all are the reason that we bought into DVC!

By the way, can anyone tell me when exactly I can book my reservation? Does it have to be after closing?

I can't anwer for sure you're question, as I'm not even official yet, but I have read that it's once Disney receives the information. That'll probably be a couple of weeks after your closing. But, I'll let someone else answer for sure. I did want to tell you Congratulations, though!!! We are waiting on our packet of info from Disney so we can sign up, so hopefully we'll be there soon!!

I was told it would take about a week for all the paperwork to go through, but it was closer to two after closing. I think MS knew me by name because I was calling every day. When I got the closing paperwork, I was offered "expidited" service for an additional $25, but I declined it. I know it's hard to be patient - but WELCOME HOME!!

Having just completed your exact wait, I can tell you my experience:

Our closing documents were emailed to me on Monday, January 12th. All executed documents and the final payment were delivered back to Timeshare Closing Services 3 days later (via overnight courier). The seller also returned his documents on the same day (Thursday). The property closed on Friday and the documents were delivered to Disney. DVC processed the paperwork this morning, 9 days after I received the closing docs. I think that's about the best you could hope for.
