Whole Milk for Toddler

Just wondering how readily whole milk is available for my toddler at WDW. I am getting a half gallon from Garden Grocer for my room but wondered when we got out and about, how available it will be for lunch and dinner. What kind of milk do they have at say Beach Club Marketplace (or any type of place, for that matter) in single servings? Also, what about TS and QS restaurants? My toddler will be 20 months when we go. He has been on whole milk and should stay on it until he is 2. I realize that if only 2% is available, it's not a deal breaker. Thanks for your help with this one!

It is unlikely you will find it in the parks. You may find it at the resort marketplace in 1/2 gallons. I wouldn't even give it a second thought. I asked my pediatrician when my dd was 16 months and he said just give her an ice cream a day and she'll be fine ;)

Can you get the shelf stable "juice boxes" of milk or Parmalat from Garden Grocer? They taste a little sweeter than regular, less ultra pasteurized milk, but I'm not sure a toddler would mind the difference, and if you can get them nice and chilled before drinking, they might not notice the taste at all.

I don't remember seeing whole milk in the parks, and I wouldn't give it a second though if I were you. An otherwise healthy child with a good diet isn't going to have any bad effects even if all they eat is coke and cookies while at Disney World.

thanks for the responses. milk in the morning and before bed will not be a problem because we have it covered in our resort room from our order from Garden Grocer. I was just wondering if the restaurants - both TS and QS offered whole milk or if they have 2% or 1% or even non-fat. Like I said, not a deal breaker, but my toddler definitely likes his milk with his meals. Just wondered if they come in single servings (along with the bottled water, juice and pop) and what kind is offered.

I could get the shelf-stable if necessary - thanks for that.

They definitely have single serving milk at the QS and every TS should have milk too - I only remember seeing 2% (or chocolate) though - no whole milk.

At a sit-down restaurant kids can definitely get a cup of milks. Ours came in a regular class/cup not something prepackaged. I assume it was either whole or 2% but never asked.

I wouldn't worry about her having less than whole milk for a week (or whatever) especially when half the day she's getting it.

I had a picky milk drinker as a toddler. Whatever compromise you think you may have to make, check it out at home first. DS refused to drink the boxes, even when we put them into his sippy cup. He also refused 2% milk when he was used to whole. When we tried to make the switch later, we figured out he knew the colors of the lid of different milks and refused to drink milk out of the wrong color jug!!!!It did make for an interesting trip with lots of frustrations! As others said, he is perfectly fine with 2% health wise, but be sure HE is ok with drinking something else. You might fine if it is hot in the parks, he might prefer something else cold to drink and be fine with milk just in the room. Our issue was nap time and he would not nap without his sippy of milk.

You may be able to get whole milk at a TS restaurant if you specify that you want whole milk, but if you just order milk, it will be 2%. On our last trip, our 21 month old had milk in the morning before we left the hotel and at night before bed. We also ordered from Garden Grocer. A few times we got her milk at meals, but it was 2%, which she was fine with. I agree with the PP who mentioned, you may want to make sure she is ok with 2% before you go. My older daughter would drink anything, but my youngest will not drink the boxed milk.
