Whole House Humidifier

Hello!
Has anyone had a whole house humidifier installled? Have you had any problems with mold in your ducting or excess condensation on your windows? Pros/cons?

We have natural gas heat and the humidity in the house is very low and it is so dry in here.

Any help or information would be appreciated.

We had a flow through humidifier installed on our gas furnace a few months ago. We're in brand new construction and it wasn't an option offered by the builder which we thought was odd.

With a flow through it only comes on when the blows does and the water flows right through the unit and drains so there's no stagnant water anywhere. Once a year we'll have to run the filter through the dishwasher but that's all the maintenance it requires.

We don't have condensation anywhere or mold for that matter.

It's made by Honeywell and installed was about $500. We have hardwood downstairs and it will also help that. In addition, it will slightly reduce our gas bill since the air is more humid the furnace doesn't run quite as often to keep the temp up.

Thanks for your response. That's what I was hoping. I really want this humidifier, but my husband thinks we'll have problems. It is really so dry in here and I can't stand it!

We got an estimate of 629.99 on their cheapest Honeywell model. I'm ready to do it but my husband is dragging his feet!
