I talked to him a little earlier and he's trying to "weasel" his way out of it by claiming he was only talking about the possiblity of my "pipes freezing"..

I reminded him that if the winds pick up like they're supposed to - and I lose my power (thus losing my heat) - I will be expecting a nice, big generator as my Christmas present this year..

(In all fairness though, he did say if I ran into a problem to call him - even if it's during work hours - and he'll come and "rescue" me.. )

its been snowing here since at least 2am. It's starting to stick on the grass now. No letting up in sight. There is no way the phillies are playing in this crap tonight either. Its a very gloomy, icky day in PA

So far just raining here - but the wind gusts are really starting to pick up.. That's my only fear - losing my power.. The snow wouldn't bother me (although the latest email alert I got from the National Weather Service has upped the total to 8 to 16 inches now) because as long as I have power, I can stay warm and safe.. They were showing areas down in the Catskill Mountains on tv with snow all over the place already.. I have a big pan of water boiling right now - that I'm going to put in 2 hot water bottles I have here.. Can't remember if they have leaks or not, but I guess I'll find out.. Will also make a "pot" of coffee (rather than just my one-cup) and put it in a large thermos..

Decided I would pop onto the DIS now because who knows what's going to happen later..

We've had snow mixed with rain, off and on, since about 10:00 this morning. Nothing is laying on the ground, but the weather is so crazy they had to postpone the World Series game again!

I remember that ice storm, I had posted pictures of that too. We had electric companies from NY and NJ plus a few other states here.

Wow, I wanted to come on here and brag about our beautiful weather but I just checked our forecast and I can't. Several counties just north of the Tampa area are calling for freezing temperatures tonight. This is crazy, we never have this kind of weather in October.

A friend called me from Florida this morning and was complaining about how "cold" she was - it was 50 degrees and a little windy.. I wanted to smack her right through the phone!!!!

However, I do know how people in the south become acclimatized to the warmer weather.. In Nov/Dec of 2007 I was at my sister's house (55 minutes north of WDW) and I was sitting outside every evening in a tank top and shorts because it was 70 degrees.. One night my sister came out and joined me and she was wearing about 6 layers of clothes and wrapped in a blanket..

It's been snowing here for the last 3 hours. It's too wet to stick though, so It's just adding to the puddles already on the ground.

I will have a generator next year.. Won't go through this again.. The only thing that concerns me is if I will be able to get it up and running on my own.. I need something REALLY simple!!

Well once John hooks ours up, all I will have to do is flip a switch. So if you get one your SIL will have to hook it up, then all you should have to do is flip a switch.

checking in again from Pike County, PA. No real snow here in the valley yet, but a wintery mix all day. Still forecasting 2-4 inches here in the valley, but 6 - 12 in the higher elevations. The kids used their first (of 9) snow day today, and I figure on a 2 hour delay tomorrow morning. A good day to stay inside with the DIS!
