Whoa! Just went into super planning mode

On a whim, we decided to take our kiddos to the World in January. Shorter lines, cooler weather, all a bonus for my kids.

Now im in super planning mode. I have about 4 months and have only the dates we want to go.

Just wanted to share in my excitement, and if u have any tips I would love to read them

I think 4 months is plenty of time to plan for the slower season at Disney. I have not been there in Jan so I do not have specific tips for that season. I would just get out the park hours now and start a loose itinerary so you can make any dining plans ahead of time that you can.

oh yeah, the best tip, the DIS boards!!! Read everything you can and then filter it to fit your family. Ask any question you come up with, there are no stupid questions on these boards (just be prepared to take some responses with a grain of salt!)

We are taking our kiddos in January too! I have been planning since January of this year, and basically you haven't missed a thing!
Couldn't make our reservations until just a few weeks ago since the 2010 package deals weren't released yet...still can't plan our days until they release the park hours, and Oct 4 is our 90 days to make ADRs. I have read LOTS on here, and copied and pasted all KINDS of info into excel sheets to print for later. We are looking forward to cooler weather and short lines too!! Maybe we will see you there!!

(I haven't done much else except that unavoidable trip to the dollar store to buy light sticks and ponchos! HA!)

We are hoping for a mid to late January trip as well. We have a son who will be 2 in November and we are looking forward to experiencing WDW through his eyes for the first time. We haven't started any sort of planning yet. We will wait until the beginning of October to check out airfare rates/specials (we usually have them from here around that time of year), hotel rates, etc. Gosh...that is only a month away! I better start getting ideas and dates in my head!

We too are going in January. It's a great time to go. The weather can be iffy but other than that it is one of my favorite times to be there.
