Well, having fallen asleep at work one night (11pm-7am shift) sitting in a chair with a pen in my hand, only to be woken up by the night supervisor who, bless her forever, didn't fire me but just told me to get up and get a cup of coffee and take a walk. She had no need to say anything more....I was well aware that she could have fired me on the spot, but I was generally a good & conscientious employee who never did anything wrong & never had any complaints lodged against me by patients, families or other staff members. I'd like to think that if the sleeping employee was a good one and this was a first offense & not obviously intentional (like he wasn't laying there with a pillow and a blanket), some slack would be cut.
I still think any adult who claims that they didn't "think" that showing pictures of a sleeping employee to the management wouldn't get anyone into trouble is one of two things: stupid or a liar. I wouldn't want either working for me.
